Christmas in July PHOTOS - Stampin' Up!

Can you believe July is almost over?

Well... want to see some fun photos from the Christmas in July class that was offered earlier this month?
The crafters hard at work!

We used the Joyful Nativity Photopolymer Stamp set, along with the Outdoor Adventure Framelits. Paired those two with the This Christmas Designer Series Specialty Paper. Added a little gold finishes with the Gold Foil Sheets and the "merry" from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits, and viola! Some quick and easy AND BEAUTIFUL cards!

And the ladies were kind enough to pose for a photo with their goodies! What a great group!

Thanks so much for spending a few hours with me!

What a Gem - July Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up!

I was able to craft all weekend! God is absolutely AWESOME!

On Sunday evening, I was able to meet with my Pumpkineers! We meet monthly on the 24th (there are a few exceptions for holidays), and we craft with our monthly kits!

Well for the July Paper Pumpkin, called "What a Gem" and is a GREAT kit! I have made so many additional ornaments by tracing the ones in the kit.

You already saw the glimmer papers smaller ornaments I made HERE.

And using some retired papers, I made some of the larger ones. Want to see one?

When I was putting these together last week, my friend Sandy saw them and held them by her ears - she said they would make a nice set of earrings!

Ok, so when the Pumpkineers arrived on Sunday evening, I greeted each crafter holding one of these and telling each one that she "was such a gem" for attending! Inside held a miniature KitKat bar (chocolate is always good, right?).

Then, once they were seated, we began crafting!

We started with a small tag. And then we made two additional cards. Check out this cute Christmas card!
What a Gem Merry Christmas!

We had to cut the triangles out of the boxes. Aren't these so cute?!

I added the Sparkle Embossing folder, along with a bow made with the Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon, and a small scrap of Early Espresso cardstock for the tree trunk. Want to know where the Merry Christmas came from? From a set I haven't used in quite a while! You see, my Teeny Tiny Wishes set is the wood-mount. So, we also played with the Stamp-a-ma-jig! What fun!

Always good to have alternate designs and to think outside of the box!

And - want to see what fun we had?

Here we are, hard at work. Well... really Nancy was the only one hard at work, the rest of us took a break to pose for the photo!

Summer - doing her "Vanna" pose for us!

As you can tell, we have fun! Look for more photos to be posted for NEXT month's Paper Pumpkin meeting too! I'm getting better at taking photos of my friends while we are crafting!

Pelotonia Fundraiser - THANK YOU!

Has this been a whirlwind weekend!

On Saturday, we had the Pelotonia Fundraiser for my husband.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

While only a few were able to attend, several of you made a donation and your cards will be ready for you by this weekend.

Some of you donated via the Pelotonia page - and even paid the service charge so that 100% of your donation went to his account! Others of you stopped by, wrote a check, or just opened your wallet and made a donation!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Both Paul and I were so humbled by your donations. Thank you for your support!

Want to see what we made?

Well, we were originally going to make five cards with your $25 donation. Because 100% of your donation went directly to Pelotonia, some retired papers and ribbons were used. Including a really cute little note card set that was SEVERAL years old! But all stamp sets and inks were current.

Kept you in suspense long enough? Ok, here is what we made!
Pelotonia Fundraiser
and a really cute little box!

We took a break from the card making to do a little tutorial/class on how to make the box too! I think that box was the biggest hit of all!

My friend Barb brought her granddaughter with her. Let me tell you - THIS is a future artist! We will see her name in lights!

Want to see what Barb's granddaughter did? First, I saw this envelope that she decorated:
Envelope designed by Barb's granddaughter!

And she just kept going! She was helping all of us! So, with her and her grandmother's permission, she displayed her cards for me to take a group photo. Check it out!
Barb's granddaughter's cards/projects

Didn't she do a nice job?!

I didn't even think to get a photo of Barb's cards and projects - but Barb did just as nice a job! Barb was smart enough to NOT put together her box and her pocket card too - she was going to take hers home and use them for the pattern. Smart lady!

A good time, for a GREAT cause, was had by all! Thanks so much for your support!

FYI - if you did not yet have a chance to donate to Paul's Pelotonia account, you still can. AND, I made a few extras of the card designs. For the first four people who donate, you will also receive the cards we made on Saturday. You will need to pick them up (or if you would prefer to have them mailed - let me know and I can send you a Paypal invoice.)

Paper Pumpkin What A Gem - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

For those who are Paper Pumpkin subscribers, you "should" have received your kit by now. What do you think?

I KNOW! ME TOO! LOVE IT!!!! (picture me doing that sing-song-y voice, cuz I just did while I typed this!)

Now, seriously, I prefer cards. I'm not usually a 3-D item type of gal. BUT these little boxes are so stinkin' cute! There are two different sizes in the kit.

As many know, I'm having a Pelotonia fundraiser for my husband this weekend. All who attend will receive one of the larger boxes WITH A TWIST! I had some kraft paper that retired but it has SILVER on it! They are so cute! I absolutely LOVE them!

I took the kit and traced it onto the 12"x12" kraft paper. (12"x12" paper will fit 3 of the larger boxes). But while I was putting the boxes together today, LIGHT BULB!

What a Gem Paper Pumpkin - July 2016
Alternate / Additional Idea
These are the smaller box size. I simply traced the design onto the glimmer papers. Then I used the Lots of Labels Framelits and made a little card/tag, just like the kit! Added a piece of ribbon and viola! I had five cute little treat bags!

Now, I gotta be honest here. If you follow the directions completely, when you seal the box, that's it! You pretty much have to mutilate the box to get the goodies out! Who wants to do that? Not me!

So, I did NOT seal the box. AND I used a 10" piece of ribbon, so there is plenty of play for them to open the box and have room to add the goodies and still keep the ribbon where it is.

All five Glimmer Papers are shown here: Blushing Bride, Gold, Dazzling Diamonds, Red, and Silver. A small scrap was also added to the little card/tag. For the ink, I used Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Real Red, and Smoky Slate Classic Inks. The ribbons are Silver 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Gold 1/4" Natural Trim, Melon Mambo Thick Baker's Twine, Silver 1/8" Ribbon, and Smoky Slate 1/8" Stitched Ribbon.

Can't wait for my Paper Pumpkineers to see these on Sunday! Which color is YOUR favorite?

If you haven't yet seen the kit, here is the YouTube video from Stampin' Up.

Pelotonia Fundraiser - Saturday, July 23rd!

Crafters -

Many of you already know this, because you have followed my blog and been a friend for a while, but we firmly believe #cancersucks - notice how I don't capitalize that stupid word?

Yeah... we lost my dad to cancer early last year. Many of you kept my business going during that time. I wasn't here and we concentrated on my mom and dad. That caused me to re-evaluate a few things and I took a break from stamping for several reasons.

And talk about a REAL Titus woman! That was my mom during those months. Actually, that is ANYONE who is a caregiver for a cancer patient. I know they just do it because they just have to, but WOW! Witnessing that first hand, showed me in so many ways the love my parents had for each other through their 50 years of marriage.

Well, my husband Paul and I met each other later in our lives. We went to different high schools, different colleges, grew up in different areas. Our paths would NEVER have crossed, except for our mutual friend Theresa. She's our George Bailey (ok, quick - who knows who George Bailey is?).

Paul lost his father to cancer while hubby was in high school. Then, before Paul and I met, his mother became a breast cancer survivor. (You see the recurring theme of #cancersucks?)

So, when Pelotonia began here in central Ohio, hubby joined them with a vengeance! He has done the complete 180-mile BICYCLE ride in two (yes, 2) days! Every year! EVERY year! You see, 100% of every rider raised dollar goes directly to cancer research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

To help hubby with his fundraising goal, this Saturday, July 23rd, from 9a-12p, I'm offering a one-day Pelotonia fundraiser! You will make five cards while here (there may be some chocolate too!). Since I've been doing this stamping thing for a few years, I even have some old bicycle stamps, along with a few others, that we can use.

You just need to bring your donation, your favorite adhesives, and your scissors! All other supplies for the cards will be provided.

RSVP by Friday, July 22nd

Contact me to reserve your spot!

Unable to attend?
and he will send you the five cards!
Hubby doesn't know that yet, but he will.  :)
Just make sure your address is listed with your online donation to his account.

Thank you for supporting this wonderful organization.

Wild and Crazy Foxy Friend - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

As you know, I had my first BOGO sale on July 1st and the final evening BOGO was just Thursday, July 14th. Want to see the cute card I made for their thank you notes?

Before I show you the card, I refer to this little guy as "Mr. Fox." I know! This cute stamp could be masculine or feminine!

Backstory - anyone remember the movie, "The Wedding Singer"? Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are the two main characters, and it is an absolute HOOT! My husband and I like the final song that the Adam Sandler character sings to the Drew Barrymore character on the airplane (and they are on a plane with Billy Idol! - LOTS of 80s references here!). If you want a cute laugh, it's called "Grow Old With You" - hubby and I LOVE this song! You can search the internet and locate it. We have it on an old CD! :)

Anyway, during the movie plot, Adam Sandler's character takes a break from the Wedding Singer gigs, and Jon Lovitz is auditioning for a gig. Lovitz starts singing "Ladies Night" - it is so funny! When I made this card earlier this week, that song was going through my mind (who knows!) and I told my mom, I should stamp "foxy lady" when making my Foxy Friends Thank you card.

Well, no such words are on my stamps, but you could use your Labeler Alphabet Photopolymer stamp set. BUT I could make our Foxy Lady "wild and crazy" (yet another movie reference!) and my mom drew pretty eyelashes on to our Foxy Lady! Check her out!

and Thoughtful Banners Bundle

Isn't she just so cute?

So to all my Foxy Friends - make it a WILD AND CRAZY type of day and enjoy!

Thoughtful Branches Bundle BOX - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

On Tuesday, my team member Donna and I drove to "that state up North" for my Team Leader's meeting. It makes a long day, but we have an absolute BLAST driving up there and enjoying the fellowship.

Well, I earned some cardstock and ribbon from my Team Leader on Tuesday evening. You can NEVER have enough cardstock and ribbon, can you?! I had the cardstock, because I do have an addiction to cardstock, but I did NOT have the ribbon. It is on my Wish List, but I just hadn't submitted that item on my order yet. (BTW - it was Melon Mambo cardstock and Melon Mambo 1/8" Stitched Ribbon)

And we are having some painting done outside so I "have" to be here. And I can't go outside because they are painting - and seriously, there are like seven guys outside painting. I do NOT want to be in their way while I do yardwork (that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!). Plus, I have some new cardstock and ribbon, and my order arrived on Tuesday. I know what I want to do!  (hehehe!)

So, my Thoughtful Branches bundle has arrived and I have been playing with it, I mean preparing for my upcoming classes. I have to have samples to show, right? Guess what I made?
Thoughtful Branches Melon Mambo Box

Don't you just LOVE it? And isn't it so pretty? I really LOVE this Limited-Edition Stamp Set and thinlit (ok, the whole bundle!) and already have several cards made with this. This is actually my first 3-D item I've made with it. The crafters who are coming on Saturday to the Coffee and Cards/Christmas in July will be receiving one of these when they arrive.

The crafters will be able to snack on the items inside and no one should leave with an empty box (it happens, but not on Saturday!), so the crafters will be able to choose one of my retired ribbons to fit into that cute box!

And, and this one is a biggie - you might want to sit down for this one! - and I even blew the dust off of my Envelope Punch Board and made this box with it! It has been FOREVER since I've used that thing!

BOGO and Sunshine Wishes - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

It has been SO STINKIN HOT here in Central Ohio. How about in your area? While my yardwork, and those durn weeds, are calling to me - it has just been too hot to be outside!

What to do? What to do? (hahaha!)

How about some crafting?!

Want to see the card I sent to my customers this week? It was also my swap card at my Team Leader's meeting on Tuesday.
Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Card
Using 2016-2018 InColors

Like it? No stamping required!

This uses the Big Shot - how did I ever survive without this thing?! - along with my Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. Now the thinlits can be part of a bundle (available in wood or clear mount), or you can purchase the thinlits separate from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set (available in wood or clear mount). When you purchase the bundle, you save 10%.

I also used the new Floral Affection embossing folder. This is my absolute favorite new embossing folder! But, my new Sparkle embossing folder just arrived on Tuesday, so that may change...  :)

I did use the 2016-2018 InColors to show how beautiful they are! And you will want to use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen - this is a MUST for this card!

Want to see this card in person?

Come to my BOGO sale! The final day of this sale is Thursday, July 14th, from 5p-8p. This was a BIG hit on the 1st and all who attended had a LOT of fun shopping! Who knew spending money was so much fun! Especially when you receive FREE STUFF!

June 2016 Paper Pumpkin

And it's made with just one of the cards! That's right - just a half sheet of cardstock!

I had so much fun with this one, I even made a SHAKER one!

Yeah, I put a few too many in the shaker, but it is really pretty!

Christmas in July - Stampin' Up!

Christmas in July is always such a fun class!

Want a little sneak peek? On Saturday, July 16th, I am offering my Christmas in July during the Coffee and Cards Class.
Christmas in July
July 16, 2016

We will be using the the Always an Adventure stamp set with its matching Outdoor Adventure Framelits (the BUNDLE will save you 10%), and we are pairing this with the Joyful Nativity stamp set.

And since I am absolutely in love with The Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper, we are using that too - on all of the cards! This specialty paper has 24 sheets in it - that's double the amount of the regular packages! It is a lightweight paper and it is beautiful. I really like that there are 4 each of the 6 double-sided designs. Keep in mind, your paper on your cards may vary.

Remember to RSVP by Thursday, July 14th, that you will be attending. You can always see my current class offerings by clicking on the CLASSES page or by checking my CALENDAR.

Ronald McDonald House Charities - Stampin' Up!

Did you know that each year, Stampin'Up! offers a special stamp set? That's right! Each year, and it is typically inside the back cover of the catalog, they offer a special Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) stamp set.

For the 2016-2017 year, the set is called My Hero. When you purchase this stamp set, Stampin' Up has listed in the catalog on this page "Help support RMHC - we will donate $3 when you buy the My Hero stamp set" (see page 209 of the big catty).

This stamp set has MANY great greetings with it! There is Valentine's Day, Easter, a jack-o-lantern for Halloween, Christmas and a "to/from" stamp, get well, and my personal favorite "you are my #1 hero."

Well, I am the Lead Demonstrator for the Columbus, Ohio Ronald McDonald House. With that, Stampin' Up! provides me with a copy of the stamp set. So, after sitting down with the Volunteer Coordinator last month, we booked our dates through January 2017 and I planned my card design to use that stamp set!

Our first craft meeting was July 3rd. One of my team members, Donna, and I went to Ronald McDonald House and we made 84 cards! We also baked 5 dozen sugar cookies. Boy! Did those smell good! Here we are with Ronald, on the bench outside the main entrance.
With Ronald McDonald on the bench!
Dawn (in blue), Donna behind Ronald

Want to see some of the cards we made?
Just a few of the cards that remained about an hour into our crafting!

And these are just the ones that remained after we'd been there an hour!

All supplies are donated. Because I had quite of bit of retired designer series papers, we used some of the brighter (prettier) papers. Everyone who passed by commented "oh, those are pretty!" The ones with the flowers were the favorites!

To make it easy, we made 50 of those diagonal slash cards (SO EASY!). But I also had a few strips of papers left too. So Donna and I made an additional 34 cards with those strips! We used up everything from those packages!

A total of 84 cards were made during the 2-hour crafting! We had a few moms, and several children, stop and make the cards. It is so wonderful that these families share just a few hours, and their stories, with us. We had a mom from Oregon, a grandma from Florida, and several others stop and talk with us. I think the cookies were enjoyed by the kids too!

Two little girls wanted to make cards with their mom. They did a BEAUTIFUL job! After getting permission from their mom, the girls allowed me to take a photo of the outside AND the inside of their cards. I just LOVE the creativity!
Card 1
Card 1 inside
Card 2
Card 2 inside

The girls were making these for their sister, who is at Children's. Didn't they do a BEAUTIFUL job?! I love that they traced their hands for their sister.

Then it got busy! I wasn't able to take photos of the other cards, but rest assured - the residents made some wonderful cards!

We had so many of the residents tell us that while they would LOVE to make a card, they just didn't have the time. So, since we already had about 20 stamped and put together, they looked through what was premade and were able to take what was needed. One mom rushed in, warmed a sandwich in the microwave, and was able to take a few of the cards on her way out. I think she was in the room a whole 5 minutes!

We had thinking of you, thankful for you, just for you, and you are so kind cards. Many of the residents like to make cards for the nurses and doctors and other staff. This time however, we had TWO requests for birthday cards. For our next meeting in August, I will be bringing a birthday stamp to use as well!

We will meet next on Sunday, August 14th, from 12p (noon) to 2pm. Can't wait to show you THOSE cards too!

Thanks so much to my team member, Donna, for volunteering to attend and help out! It makes it much easier when there are at least two of us. I could not have done it without her help! She did the stamping with the families while I started the cookies. Then we were both stamping and the cookies had to wait! So thankful that I am blessed with a wonderful team...
