Banner Surprise Paper Pumpkin - PLAY BALL! - Stampin' Up!

Ok, so... how many of you are enjoying your June 2016 Paper Pumpkin - the Banner Surprise Kit?

Earlier this morning, I sent a sneak peek of TWO different cards to my Pumpkineers. Well, then I started playing with my kit again. You see, I try to give them about a dozen different ideas. So... I started playing with my kit.

I had an idea for a Christmas card and was gonna work on that, but I had also put a few chocolates in one of the triangular cellophane bags that was included with the kit. BUT I didn't like the little topper that I had on it. So I was really just playing with it.

Well... using my Mint Macaron I put the striped circle on just half of the die-cut circle and then put it on the other half.

Quickly I grabbed my Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad and matching cardstock, I cut one of the card bases into a quarter strip, and check me out!

How stinkin' cute is this?

Now I gotta show you a blast from the past. Our boy is a teenager now and almost 6' tall. BUT when the boy was about 5 years old, he went to Florida to spend a week with his Grandma and Grandpa. The Cincinnati Reds used to have their Summer Training Camp nearby. And they LOVED going to the games!

Well, since it is predominantly an older crowd, when G-Ma and G-Pa walked into the stadium with the boy, one of the staffers asked them if the boy could "help them out" at the beginning of the game.

So what do you think my parents told this staffer? But of course the boy could help out! You see, my dad was a bit of a social butterfly (there is a VERY non politically correct term he used to use, but we will let this one go).

Here is my boy, in all his glory, not quite sure about what was going on - but he did say "Play Ball" to the crowd (don't look too close at the stands)!
The boy saying
"Play Ball"
into the mic!

We lost G-Pa last year to cancer (#cancersucks) but this is such a GREAT memory for the boy, my mom, and me. One we will always cherish.

Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet! Anyone else remember that jingle? It's from the 1970s - Seriously?!

I was so pleased with this card and how it turned out. Plus it was a nice memory of my dad. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Paper Pumpkin - Banner Surprise Kit - Stampin' Up!

Just WOW!

I know many of you took advantage of the $5 One Day Deal that Stampin' Up! offered for the June Paper Pumpkin.

Well, those kits have begun hitting the mailboxes! I received mine on Monday.

My Pumpkineers will meet on Friday to see some alternate designs. There are a few who will be missing due to vacations, parties and two of the ladies are going on a church thing with the youth!

BUT, they will still receive the PDF with my alternate designs. Want to see what I made last night?

Window Shaker Card

My foam adhesive strips arrived Tuesday evening. Now I gotta let you in on a little secret. I have never actually MADE a shaker card before! YIKES!!!!! Don't tell anyone, ok?

BUT, when I saw the sneak peek that Paper Pumpkin gave on their Facebook page, I thought this month's kit would be shaker cards. And since they always give us SO MUCH in the kits, thought I would make a few extras, so I ordered the foam adhesive strips to use.

WOW! I had no idea how much fun these shaker cards are! This is just ONE of the ones I have made so far. I like my butterfly one also - and I actually think that one was a little bit easier. Check back later in the week to see that one!

Hope the Pumpkineers like it when they see it in person on Friday evening. Or when they receive the PDF I send out at the beginning of July.

And did I mention how much I just LOVE making these shaker cards?!

OH - and Banner Surprise Refill Kits are available while supplies last!

Penned and Painted - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

I make a number of cards throughout each month. Some are for classes, others for friends or gifts, and still others are for our church's card ministry. Typically I do not make just one of a card, unless it is for a special order. I like to do assembly line!

Well, my Team Leader challenged us to make 20 cards and send those out. With this cold and life in general, I didn't get my 20 done last week.  :(  Well, she thought it was so important that she challenged us with the same challenge again this week!

And, I just LOVE the Penned and Painted Photopolymer Stamp Set. This is a two-step stamp (just means that to get the extra detail, you use a couple of stamps - makes it really POP off the page!).

YEARS ago, I heard Shelli Gardner (Co-founder and Board Chair of Stampin' Up!) say that we used the SPA treatment. S-P-A stands for Stamp - Punch - Assemble. And that's exactly how I do mine. First step is always stamping. Last step is always assembling, and everything else falls in the middle. Makes life MUCH easier!

To make 20 cards assembly line style, want to see how my set up works?
Assembly Line set up
Do you notice how I have the Duet Banner Punchout there? You KNOW how much I miss my Banner Punch that retired. I used it all the time. Well, when they retired it, I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I liked that thing! And my stamp-a-ma-jig? How did we ever get anything centered on those small little pieces before this wonderful invention?!
Assembly Line In Progress!
I hate it when I close up a card before the ink is dry. So I have learned over the years to stamp everything and allow it time to dry. This has been the easiest way for me to do it. And if you notice, there are only 19 of the cards here. I gave one out before I finished stamping all of them! How cool was that?!

Still thinking about my banner punch? Check it out!

LOVE my Duet Banner Punch!
Using a 1" strip - a scrap really - I punched out from the Duet Banner Punch. Then using my snips, I cut the banner in half to give me those little flags. GREAT way for me to get my little banner!

And finally, here's a group shot of the cards - VERY pretty!

I'm hoping to get these cards in the mail on Monday. I know my friends and customers will enjoy this card as much as I do! Did you notice? The new 2016-2018 InColors are all the flowers and leaves!

Penned and Painted - Stampin' Up!

So, I looked at the catalog a while ago and you ever see a stamp set and say "I LOVE THIS STAMP SET" and just know that you are going to get it?

Well, that's me with a LOT of the stamps within the catalog (which is why I'm a demonstrator instead of a customer!). But when I first received my catalog, I saw the Penned and Painted Photopolymer Stamp Set and fell in love. At. First. Sight.

My supplies arrived on the 7th, just last week. Of course, I was in "that state up north" but hubby brought the boxes (yes, plural!) in for me so I could look through my new goodies when I got home. But that was at 2am, so I did sleep before I tore into the boxes! I was so proud of myself!

So many goodies. So little time. And did I mention? The traditional summer cold is upon me! UGH!!! Since I can finally breathe again, I was able to get back to stamping! You don't realize how much you miss it, until you can't do it for a few days.

Alright, I've kept you in suspense enough.

Stylized Birthday Wood Mount Stamp Set

What do you think? On Monday, I received my Stampin' magazine that Stampin' Up! sends to all its demonstrators. It's called "Stampin' Success." I saw a card inside which I LOVED! So, I did what any good crafter would do - I CASEd it! (*CASE - Copy And Share Everything). This card is for my cousin. Her birthday was Monday. BUT, I liked this card so much, that I have revised my card design for Saturday's FLOWERS GALORE! Coffee and Cards class (nothing like changing things at the last minute, huh?). The card we make on Saturday will be slightly different than this one.

And don't you just LOVE the Stylized Birthday Stamp? THAT stamp is one that I won at my team leader's meeting on the 7th! I completely missed this great stamp in the catalog on my first ten passes through the new catty! I love how pretty it looks stamped on the Vellum Cardstock. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I used my Heat Tool to dry this a little faster. Added a little bit of the Thick Whisper White Baker's Twine, and viola! Kristin should enjoy this card. She always says that she likes my cards, but since we are related, I think she has to say that - she's really nice that way! :)

Hope you enjoy it as well!

Upcoming Classes

Crafters -

One of my friends is going through her chemo treatments right now (#cancersucks). BUT she is keeping active AND is an avid crafter! I would LOVE to have her join my Team, but, for now, I think she just likes crafting. I'm still working on her - especially with the TWO free stamp sets for joining.  :)

Well, she and I were texting the other day. And I was telling her about my upcoming classes. She suggested that I should give everyone a list of what I will be using in the upcoming classes. DUH! What a GREAT idea! (and then later on, I actually listened to a training from my team leader and she said the same thing!)  I'm gonna catch on eventually...

So, thank you to my wonderful friend who shares her ideas with me! And thanks to a wonderful team leader for her training... if I ever learn...

**Subject to change - please confirm before you pay for the class!

Many Manly Occasion Christmas Card! - Stampin' Up!

Well, you saw how I glammed up the Cutie Pie cake and flowers the other day.

Want to see how we made this masculine card design kit into a pretty, glimmer-y. Christmas card?

This one was the FAVORITE!

We just added a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper, used the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set (now retired) with our Night of Navy Stampin' Spot that came in the kit and even punched out Mr. Bird using cardstock (FYI - Mr. Bird took flight on May 31st... sniff, sniff!)

Beautiful and EASY!

Don't forget to JOIN NOW for the $5 June 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit! Remember, you have to join by June 10th! You can cancel it at any time (but seriously??? why would you????), or continue to reap the benefits!

Let me know if you have any questions! Look forward to you subscribing and coming to my home on June 24th!

Paper Pumpkin - Stampin' Up!

Don't you just LOVE when a plan comes together? Especially when it comes together without any hard work on our part?

Me too!

Well, you know I've been talking about the June Paper Pumpkin - the one that is just $5 for new subscribers!!! Yeah, that one!

I met with several of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers (Pumpkineers) on May 24th and using our kit supplies, we made two alternate designs. I also provided some white cardstock and we made an additional card during this time frame!

Then by the 5th of the month (in this case, by June 5th), my Pumpkineers received a PDF with 12 card designs and one 3-D design. It's always good to have extra ideas!

Want to see what MY personal favorite was?

Disclaimer first. The May kit was called Many Manly Occasions. I really liked it because the font was not frilly or fancy. It was a stamp set that I could use for the men in my life. I actually made my husband's birthday card AND his Father's Day card from the kit! BUT, it's also nice to glam things up too!

So that's what I did!
May 2016 Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin Kit
Glam Version - complete with flowers and Wink of Stella!
LOVE the Cutie Pie Thinlit!

Want to see a close up on the flowers?
Wink of Stella is just so pretty, isn't it?

I am already missing my Spiral Flower Die! I have used the daylights out of this die! But, as with all good things, they must end. So now I'm going to get to play with the Botanical Builder Framelits instead!

Hope you have enjoyed this idea! Remember, just because the kit says that it is "Manly," doesn't make it so. Of course, if it is all flower-y and pretty, we can "man up" that kit too!

Seriously, JOIN NOW. It's just $5 for the stamp set, ink spot and monthly projects. You cannot get that deal anywhere - AND no coupon is required! Just enter the promo code between June 9th at 5pm (Mountain) and June 10th at 11:50pm (Mountain)!

Let me know if you have any questions! There is no risk on this one. After you receive the kit, if you find that you really don't like it and don't want to continue (seriously???), you can cancel your subscription at any time with Stampin' Up! But I'm gonna bet you will want to continue with this!

Look forward to you joining and seeing you on the 24th!

Foxy Friends - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

I know so many of us follow Stampin' Up! on Facebook, but did you also know that they post photos on Pinterest as well as the Stampin'Up website?

They showed this photo on the Stampin' Up! website the other day.

Foxy Friends Stamp Set
Fox Builder Punch
BUNDLE it and SAVE 10%!

Now, the saying shown doesn't come with the Foxy Friends photopolymer stamp set (it is from the Labeler Alphabet photopolymer stamp set), but isn't this so stinkin cute? LOVE IT!

Gotta be honest with you, I don't typically do the little critters type of stamps. BUT, this one is absolutely adorable! So, yes, I actually ordered the Foxy Friends Stamp Set and the Fox Builder Punch! Don't forget - You can save 10% when you order the BUNDLE. AND I also ordered A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack! I liked it THAT MUCH!

How much did I like it, you may ask? So much so, that I am offering a class on this!

The class is scheduled for Saturday, July 2nd from 9a-12p. You will receive the Foxy Friends Stamp Set, the Fox Builder Punch, and a HALF package of the Foxy DSP Stack paper! We will make FOUR cards/designs during this three-hour class.

I will be providing the stamp pads and the designs for these ideas! Because there is so much stamping and punching with this class, each participant will use his or her own stamp set and punch! That way, you can personalize it, change it up, and make each design YOUR own! Or, you can make the item as shown in the class!

I will also have other items on display using this set and punch. Remember to bring your camera (or phone) to take photos if you want to make the same thing at home!

This is a photopolymer stamp set, so you will need to bring your own glass blocks. For the class, Glass Block D should work for everything we will be using. (If you need me to order this glass block for you, let me know!)

As soon as my goodies arrive, I'll be showing a sneak peek for this class.

Please RSVP by Saturday, June 18th so I can order the supplies for you!

Paper Pumpkin - Many Manly Occasions - Stampin' Up!

Crafters -

Stampin' Up! offers this wonderful monthly subscription kit for us. Did you know that? LOVE IT!

I was a subscriber when they began this program THREE YEARS AGO and I gotta tell you... the latest kits have really knocked my socks off!

Well, I have started a monthly meeting with my Pumpkineers. We meet on the 24th of the month (there are a few date changes due to holidays and vacations). My crafters bring their kits with them. And, for just $5, they will make an additional/alternate project or two. For the May meeting, we made two alternate cards AND an additional one with spritzing! Spritzing is so much fun!!!

I also showed a couple of the extra items I made, including a 3-D item! And I send my Pumpineers at PDF of the alternate ideas! The May PDF had 13 different ideas, and that included the 3-D item! There were eight cards in the kit, and there were so many things that we could do with them!

Because the deadline is June 10th for the June kit, I'm gonna show a couple of the items from the May kit. You do NOT want to miss the June kit! JOIN NOW!

This monthly program is really a great idea! You can complete the ENTIRE KIT in about 30 minutes! It comes with almost everything! You have to provide your own scissors and adhesives, but let me tell you a little secret. The last couple of months, they provided the glue dots! I didn't have to use my own adhesive!

Want to see one of my ideas?

May 2016 Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin
Alternate Idea
Close up

With this card, I used a piece of Whisper White Cardstock for the card base. Spritzed it with some Night of Navy ink refill and rubbing alcohol in my Stampin' Spritzer. You get TWO of those for just $3! THAT is a deal!

Then, the Night of Navy template? Yeah, we had ALL used that to spritz for one of the cards we made here! Well, I emptied the rest of the spritzer on it to color it completely!

I diecut a Whisper White butterfly from my Bold Butterfly Framelits. Stamped "HAPPY" all over the white butterfly (got the idea from my Tin of Cards Project Kit!). Used a partial piece of the Pumpkin Pie corrugated cardstock that came in the kit and used my Butterflies Thinlits for the top butterfly. Added a saying and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels and viola! A nice card - fast, easy, simple!

This was just ONE of the cards I added to my PDF for my Pumpkineers! If you would like to join our group, make sure you sign up before June 10th for this month's kit! JOIN NOW!

And, a final note. I did order two extra kits. The kits come with the stamp set, the card supplies, and even a Night of Navy Stampin' Spot! Because these are Cash-and-Carry, I can sell them. If you are interested in the entire kit (refills are available on the Stampin' Up! website HERE), please contact me. I'd LOVE to get this kit (and my PDF with the extra ideas above!) in your hands!

June Coffee and Cards Class - Sneak Peek - Stampin' Up!

So.... what do you think of the new catalog?

I placed an order in the wee hours on June 1st. I think the entire free world has placed their first order at that same time too! So I'm hoping my new goodies get here soon... That whole "Dear Lord, grant me patience, and grant it NOW!" type of thing. All in His time, huh?  :)

Seriously though, Stampin' Up! has the BEST people working in the warehouse and shipping our items!

BUT, I was able to preorder a few items last month to play with, I mean to prepare for my classes. For the Coffee and Cards Class on Saturday, June 18th, we will be making all kinds of FLOWERS GALORE for this class (although, I will "man up" one of the cards for a Father's Day or masculine birthday card).

Want to see a sneak peek of the one card? Let you in on a little secret on this one. It will use ALL FIVE of the new InColors! That's right! Dapper Denim. Emerald Envy. Flirty Flamingo. Peekaboo Peach. Sweet Sugarplum. ALL. FIVE. COLORS.

AND we will use the new Floral Affection Embossing Folder on this card! These are the BEST new embossing folders (IMHO) but it does take a little bit extra to make it work without showing the folder lines on the paper. You see, this is a little different. There are TWO small embossing folders in this one! So, when you use them, because they are only on a small portion of the cardstock, you get lines from the folders.

Want to know how I took care of that little issue? (For those of you who have been with me for a while, you know I did this for the OLD little embossing folders too - but act surprised, ok? Don't want to give away all my secrets, right?)
Floral Affection Embossing Folder
Put a piece of chipboard, about the same size as the design, and adhere it to the folder!
I also put the directions on mine, so I remember what my Big Shot "sandwich" should be.
Makes life SO. MUCH. EASIER.
**NOTE: Everyone's Big Shot is a little different. You may need to alter YOUR "sandwich."

Without further ado, here's a glimpse of one of the cards we will make at the June Coffee and Cards class:
June Coffee and Cards Class
Love and Affection
Floral Affection Embossing Folder
2016-2018 InColors!

Pretty, right? I liked this card so much, THIS will be my swap card at our Team Meeting!

We will make five cards with a cute little gift box. The card that we will "man up" will be your bonus sixth card! Please RSVP by Wednesday, June 15th.

Unable to attend? No problem! There is a To-Go option available. Contact me for more information!
