One Sheet Wonder Class, Quilting Cards, and a Little Bit of Excitement...

Crafters -

On Saturday, I met with some friends and fellow crafters for my One Sheet Wonder Class. We had a LOT of fun! We made six cards, and I LOVED every one of the designs.

So I had wanted to make some type of quilting card last month. I googled "quilting card" and the ideas were WOW! But the one that spoke to me the most was a card from Karen Barber. You can see her card and posting HERE. She even gave a really GREAT tip to line the pieces and parts with the Stampin' Up! Grid Paper.

One of the six cards was this quilting card.
Dawn's Card

With my retirement, I took a Quilting 101 class about a month ago. HAD. A. BLAST! So, with that 1 little square, I made 11 more and am now in the process of trying to make it into a twin size quilt! With a little help from my Aunt Linda, she was able to get me on the right path. And my friend Monica has also offered her assistance to me. Between me and my family/friends, I may actually be able to get this quilt done!

This quilting card was a HUGE hit! My friend Susan is apparently a quilter! I LOVE these classes. I really get to talk with my friends. And my husband was out of town riding his bicycle with some other bicycle enthusiasts, so we were totally at our leisure! (more on hubby and bicycling in a bit.)

Here are a few of the other quilting cards that were made:

Linda's card

Bev's Card

Susan's card

Isn't this GREAT? Same design, everyone's just looks different! For the white portions, we used the Shimmery White Paper - really pretty!

Did you notice the saying on this card? We used the Trust God Stamp Set. VERY appropriate!

And the excitement we had here... Let me tell you, God really does put us where He needs us to be. My husband was bicycling in southern Ohio and he is an AVID cyclist. While we were finishing our cards, my husband's ringtone came through on my cell phone - NOT a good sign since he doesn't call me in the middle of a bicycle ride. He was involved in a bicycle accident. No vehicles were involved; just the hard pavement. There was an ambulance ride from southern Ohio, MANY tests at the hospital, and even an overnight hospital stay!

I will post more about this in a few days, but let me assure you - Linda, Bev and Susan were exactly where they were needed! And I appreciated each of them VERY much! So thankful my friends are huggers too - cuz I needed them at that moment. Hubby's helmet did the job it was supposed to do and he was with some wonderful people who ensured his well-being! Check back for photos and more information!

And thank you so very much to my wonderful friends - Linda, Bev and Susan for being here! "Where two or more gather..."  Love you!

Cards from Team Meeting

Crafters -

Two weeks ago, I was able to meet with my Team. We were originally scheduled in January. However, all classes and meetings were cancelled. So this was the first time we were able to meet.

As luck would have it, my mom was in Ohio for Easter. We really enjoyed her visit! And since she was formerly a demonstrator, she was also able to attend our Team Meeting. Even had her design a card!

So, because I already had the meeting planned for January, during Sale-a-Bration, we went ahead and just used those card supplies. Unfortunately, since it was now AFTER Sale-a-Bration... well, we went ahead and used those designs anyway!

Check out the fun cards we made!

We made four cards using the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and the Butterfly Thinlits Dies. SO glad those are available again! They are so beautiful in person!

Cameo Coral Butterfly Basics

Lost Lagoon Butterfly Basics
CASED from Shelli Gardner and Dawn Griffith
Sweet Taffy Butterfly Basics

And check this out! I only had enough of the pink for four cards, and there were six of us. And I always make a couple of extras, so all of a sudden, I was four pink butterflies short! What to do? What to do? Thankfully, the Designer Series Papers match each other!
Sweet Taffy Butterfly Basics

You all know how popular the Lotus Blossom stamp set was during Sale-a-Bration. So I had this extra card ready to go. It does take a little bit of practice to line up the three stamp designs, but the end result is absolutely stunning!

My aunt (mom's sister) was also able to stop over and make the cards too! When she saw this design, initially she said "no, that's ok, I'll just watch" and wasn't going to make this card However, when she saw others making it, and saw just how great this card was, SHE made one too! And it turned out beautiful!

And finally, the last card is the card my mom designed. See Mom really likes the Dictionary stamp (I can't believe it is going to retire - NOOOOO!!!!!), and she really liked the Love is Kindness stamp set, so this is what she came up with!

Doesn't the "Happy Birthday" from Guy Greetings just match this perfectly? Mom has a good eye, huh?

Well, I hope you have enjoyed the cards from my Team Meeting!

Sneak Peek - One Sheet Wonder Card Class

Crafters -

Gotta tell you - I am REALLY enjoying this retirement thing! I used to work the night shift and sleep during the daytime. I have been able to attend the boy's school sporting events AND I've been able to work around the house during the daytime and sleep at nighttime. Who knew?!  :)

Seriously, I have been cutting some of my soon-to-be retired Designer Series Papers for Saturday's One Sheet Wonders class. And having the time of my life doing this too! And it has been so much fun! Especially since each set of six cards uses different colors. I've been using some of my soon-to-be retired InColors too!

So, without further ado... here's a little sneak peek at just one of the cards we will be making on Saturday.
For You Card
One Sheet Wonders Class
Saturday, April 25th, 2015

This card uses Park Lane Designer Series Papers, along with the Love Is Kindness stamp set, a small piece of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies, and do you recognize the bow and "for you" diecuts? That's right! Those are BOTH from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies! And check this out! The pocket holds a cute little bookmark. Cute, huh?

Remember, the accessories (that's basically anything BUT stamp sets) are only available while supplies last. The Blackberry Bliss ribbon and the Park Lane Designer Series Papers are both considered accessories and may not last long... Did you notice when you clicked on the link? The Blackberry ribbon is marked 50% off! This one won't last long!

You can sign up for this class between now and Friday at 12:00 pm (that's noon!). The class is FREE with a $40 purchase that day. BUT, because so many items are selling out so quickly with the Retiring List, and since Stampin' Up! is updating the Clearance Rack on Wednesday, April 22nd, I'm guessing they will go even faster. SO, when you place your online $40 merchandise order between now and Friday at 12:00 noon, YOU can attend the class for FREE! Just send me an email when you place the order, so I can prepare supplies for you also.

Live too far away, unable to attend the class but still want to place an order? Place your online $40 merchandise order before Friday at noon and then send me an email. I'll email the PDF of the cutting instructions for this One Sheet Wonders Class and a group photo of the cards to you. The PDFs will be emailed Saturday afternoon.

Look forward to seeing you soon!

April and May Classes - Stampin' Up!

Well, it has been a while since I posted. Thank you all so much for your kind words, the beautiful cards both my mom and I received, and all your prayers. All were much appreciated!

Ok, onto the business portion, now!  :)

I had my team meeting last weekend while my mom was here. Mom used to be a demo, so it was really nice crafting with her and seeing her visit with friends. Mom even designed a card for our meeting! I'll be posting photos of the cards next week.

BUT, now that I have cleaned my craft room (somewhat!) and have looked at our calendar. I have scheduled two card classes for April and May. Before I tell you what those are about, here are a few quick announcements:

  1. Butterfly Thinlits SHOULD be at Stampin' Up! this week. They are offering a special when they arrive. You can always see the upcoming promotions by clicking HERE for the current Stampin' Up! promotions. I will update this blog once the items have been received by Stampin' Up! (FYI - when you order the bundle, you can get a special FREE surprise too!)
  2. The Retired List is announced on April 21st. That's NEXT WEEK!  WOO HOO!
  3. As a demonstrator, I can preorder from the new catty in early May.
Now that you know that information... Here is the CLASS information.

One-Sheet Wonders Card Class
Saturday, April 25th
Many of the Designer Series Papers will be retiring, which means we will be getting some NEW papers (YEAH!). So that I can make room for some NEW papers, how about some One-Sheet Wonders Cards? Never heard of One-Sheet Wonders (or sometimes called OSW)? Well, you take one sheet of Designer Series Papers and you make some cards with that one sheet (and cardstock and some other pieces and parts). We will make 6 cards and the cost will be $10. You must RSVP so that I have time to cut everything ready for you. Let's face it - 6 cards in 1 hour? It can be done! And we will have fun too!

New Catty Card Par-tay
That's right! Say "Par-tay" with some FUN attitude!
Saturday, May 30th
Because I can preorder items from the new catty, we will get to play with some new stuff! We will make 3 cards for $5.

Both card classes are prepay only. And you will need to prepay by noon on the day before the card class. On the CLASSES page, I have added a Paypal button for both classes. Of course, you can always send or drop off a check, if that is easier.
