Pelotonia FUNdraiser - Cupcakes with What Looks Like Dazzling Diamonds? - Stampin' Up!

I've been busy setting up the rooms and getting the raffle prizes ready this evening, and I just realized that I didn't post a picture of the fabulous cupcakes that you will be trying out today. Where does the time go?

Check this out! My friend, Cyndie, baked these for the Pelotonia FUNdraiser!
Yummy cupcakes for the Pelotonia FUNdraiser!

Now, she calls the sparkly colors "Disco Dust." I think it looks just like tinted Dazzling Diamonds! When we walked out with the cupcakes from her shop, Happy Hostess House, the sunlight hit the cupcakes and they just DAZZLED!

And I did ask her to get in the picture with her beautiful creations, however she declined. Picture wouldn't do her justice anyway, just as this picture does not do the cupcakes justice! Hubby printed out some little flags with the Pelotonia arrow on them (Cyndie's suggestion), and I'll be placing those on the cupcakes (hopefully) before you arrive in the morning!

Alrighty then... off to meet Mr. Sandman as we will be crafting in just a few short hours. CANNOT WAIT!!!!  :)

Pelotonia FUNdraiser - Perfect Blend and Mini Coffee Cups - Stampin' Up!

Pelotonia FUNdraiser
THIS Saturday, July 26th, from 9a-3p
A variety of cards will be available to make
Completed cards will also be for sale
3 cards for $5
Please bring your favorite adhesive
I will have SNAIL adhesive available for sale
And yes, you can get the kits TO GO too

So, I have been putting the finishing touches on Saturday's FUNdraiser. Check out what the participants will be receiving when they get here (with chocolate inside).

And a close up:

As many of you know, I have a BUNCH of retired Designer Series Papers, so I chose something that was summer-y and cheer-y! Combined the old with the new - retired papers and brads with current punches (Petite Petal and Decorative Label) and stamp set (Perfect Blend)! Thanks so much to Deb Valder for sharing her cute ideas on these mini coffee cups!

These mini coffee cups are just the cutest thing! I worked on them during my lunch and, since most of my coworkers are male... Well, let's just say, they had a few laughs! According to my coworker, Mike, I was doing arts and crafts by covering Dixie cups with pretty paper. I think these turned out really pretty. I'll have to ask Mike what he thinks when I got back to work.

BUT they did seem fascinated when I pulled out my Big Shot and Top Note Die for the Christmas Card design! I'll post that card design later this month.

And finally, make sure you check back on Friday, July 25th. There is one other woman on the shift that I work and she is the best baker in town! My friend, Cyndie, the owner of Happy Hostess House, has graciously donated a couple of dozen of her famous cupcakes. I'll post a picture of them on Friday. Let me tell you - you will NOT want to miss these cupcakes!

Can't wait to see you on SATURDAY, JULY 26TH, for this GREAT cause - and we get to make cards and eat chocolate. Doesn't that sound like a wonderful Saturday? Especially since it's supposed to be overcast and cloudy. PERFECT crafting weather!

Bloom With Hope and Sweet Taffy - Stampin' Up!

We had the BEST time on Saturday! My quarterly downline meeting was on Saturday, which also was the final day of the 2014 Stampin' Up! Convention. AND Stampin' Up! offered a LIVE streaming video.

We changed the time of the meeting to the afternoon so that we could watch the video together. After our meeting, we also had pizza while we watched the video. It was almost like being there, but with the comforts of home!

Want to see what we made during our Latte Joy Stampers meeting? LOVE the ideas!

We made this cardstock sampler first. This is really nice to have so that you can compare the colors and see what YOU like! I was showing mine to my mom when she was here in June. We took this thing apart so many times! Mom kept track of the color combinations that she liked. I place my business card on the front, so all of the cardstock pieces are the size of a business card. Nice size to fit in my bag AND keep on my craft table!

Then we made two different projects. One was a cute little "book" that is GREAT for gift cards and notes! I was able to attend the Mini Convention with Connie and Mary ( earlier this month with my friend Linda. We made one of these during that day. I still have a few pieces of the newly retired 2012-2014 InColors, so we used my Primrose Petals cardstock and the matching Designer Series Paper. This is the BASIC design. To give it to someone, I will add labels to each of the pockets and decorate/stamp the various pages. Really GLAM IT UP!
Closed Book

Open Book

Then we also made a cute card set with a matching box. As you know, Stampin' Up! is currently offering a Designer Series Paper (DSP) Special - Buy 3, Get 1 FREE! So, using the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper, and the matching cardstock colors, we used the Bloom With Hope Hostess Stamp Set (one of my FAVORITES!). I've included a group picture, along with individual photos. You can click on the picture to see them in greater detail. Don't forget to stamp on the envelopes too! All three card ideas came from a Ronda Wade class (

Complete Set
Bloom With Hope Stamp Set
Sweet Taffy Designer Series Papers
Blossom Punch

Cute box to hold all three cards and envelopes!
Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive
Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive
Melon Mambo with White Vellum Cardstock
Don't forget to stamp a matching envelope too!
Gotta tell you something too. The image I stamped on the envelope DOES look different from the image stamped on the Big Box brands. Stampin' Up! Whisper White envelopes have this coating (for lack of a better word) and it really does make a difference when you stamp on the envelopes. Looks WAY nicer when using the Stampin' Up! brand.

A good time was had by all - although we did miss the other members who were unable to attend. Hope you enjoyed our creations!

Want to see these in person? Come on Saturday, July 26th to the Pelotonia FUNdraiser and you can see them! I made a couple of extras... hmmm... what do YOU think I should do with the extras?  ;)

Paper Pumpkin Subscription!

Crafters -

It is now July 13th. First, I can't believe it is July already, but we're not going to go there!  But second, did you know that if you join My Paper Pumpkin by the 10th, your beautiful red box would already be in the process of shipping to you?

That's right! When you subscribe by the 10th of each month, you will receive that month's Paper Pumpkin in the mail! Right to your own door! Mine actually fits in the mailbox and our mailperson has put the regular mail on either side of the box. It is always a nice surprise to see that red box in there!

I just sent my subscribers a little something in the mail. I just have one more to meet up with to give her hers. Thought about dropping it at her doorstep, but didn't think it would be a wise idea to open her screen door at 4am. :)

Few things I want to share with you about My Paper Pumpkin.

  1. When you come to the Pelotonia FUNdraiser/3-4-5 Card Class on Saturday, July 26th, I'm going to give away one of the original Welcome / Starter kits. These are no longer available. Each person, when he or she subscribes, now receives that monthly kit! **Actually, you can still order the Welcome / Starter Kit, but only as a subscriber. Subscribers get to order past kits while supplies last.
  2. Paper Pumpkin works for both the new and seasoned crafter! And since it arrives each month, it's like a class in the mail EACH MONTH! How cool is that?! New crafters have not been overwhelmed with the kits and have their projects done within about 30 minutes - and they really like the kits! Seasoned crafters have a plethora of crafting supplies and add to each of the projects as they like! Same designs but totally different end products!
  3. When you sign up by SATURDAY, JULY 26TH, I'll even give you a package of Basic Rhinestones or Basic Pearls as my thank you! Sign up for a 6 or 12 month subscription and I'll send you BOTH! I will include them with my Thank You note that will be sent to you in August.
  4. You can see some of the other designs that I have made on this blog and on my Facebook page. Here on the blog (if you are receiving this via email, you will need to go to the actual blog:, just look over on the right hand side and find the Paper Pumpkin listing. You'll get several ideas! Don't forget about Stampin' Up!'s Pinterest page too!

These are GREAT to share with friends too! If you live too far away to come to one of my classes, get together with several of your friends! When you have a group of 5 or more, AND YOU GET TOGETHER WITH THEM, I'll even skype with you!

Perfect Blend + Past Paper Pumpkin = Work of Art / Stampin' Up!

I had so much fun playing with my stamps on Monday. This post was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but since Stampin' Up! announced so many wonderful things, I blogged about that on Tuesday instead. You can read all about those updates HERE.

BUT, here is the card I made on Monday:
Perfect Blend + Past Paper Pumpkin Kit =
Work of Art
Can I just tell you how easy this card was to make? Well, I used the Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes, so I didn't have to cut any papers at all! Just opened the package. These come 20 in a package and come with the envelopes for just $5.95. The notecards also come in Crumb Cake - that's new this year!

Then I grabbed my Hey ThereWelcome Kit/Paper Pumpkin Starter Kit, which is now available for purchase as a Past Kit but only available to Paper Pumpkin Subscribers - Item # is 132599. I really like that "hey there friend" stamp - use it all the time! And you can see all the Past Kits that can be ordered by going HERE.

I pulled out my Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pads. I was in a BRIGHTS Collection mood on Monday!  :)  One of the advantages of having ALL of the stamp pads (and a GREAT reason to come to one of my classes so you can try out the colors before you buy them too!).

So, I stamped my "hey there friend" in Melon Mambo on the centered bottom of the notecard. Then I took the long "swoosh" from Work of Art - I like that highly technical term - and stamped off using Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and Melon Mambo. Because these are BRIGHTS, they are... well.. bright! I wanted the color, but I wanted it a little muted. So after I inked the stamp, I stamped in it on Grid Paper first, and then onto the notecard. I tried stamping it a few times to see how bright or muted I wanted the colors.

Once I had all the swoosh colors stamped, I grabbed my handy-dandy coffee cup from Perfect Blend and inked it in Early Espresso. I centered it on the colored swooshes. Then I stamped the image on the inside of the card, along with my information. The card was DONE!

After I was done with the card, I noticed the Melon Mambo on the coffee lid. Kinda reminded me of lipstick that is left on the coffee lid. Not an intended design, but that's how it came out!

Many of you know, I like to stamp the envelopes too. I think it really sets the card off and it lets the card recipient know that they are getting a handstamped card from me. BUT those swooshes were a little big for the smaller notecard envelope. So I used the line - it looks like a thick crayon line to me. Well, I used that with the same colors on the envelope and then stamped the coffee cup image on the envelope.

Now the card AND envelope were done! No layers, no adhesives, no extra postage. Just a quick and easy card.

Hope you like it! If you do, please consider pinning this card on Pinterest and sharing it with others. And feel free to leave me a comment! I LOVE getting comments!

Anything cardinal - well, everyone wants one! This is such a GREAT Christmas set. Cannot wait to get my hands on this one!  :)  This set will be available in the 2014 Holiday Catalog, but that's not available until AUGUST 28TH! That means you will have almost two full months to use this stamp set BEFORE it is actually available in the 2014 Holiday Catalog.

Christmas Bliss
Photopolymer only

The Clearance Rack will update with new items on July 10th. Don't forget to use
Hostess Code 4GXWAAG2
to receive a cute four-pack of cards from me. HELPFUL HINT: I sort the Clearance Rack items from lowest price to highest price. When you see that "sort by" feature on the screen, change it from "A-Z" to "< Price." That usually groups all the papers together, same with similar ribbons (so you can see what colors are available), and such. Makes it WAY easier - PLUS you get to see what GREAT deals these are! Especially when you see things that are only 99 cents!

Weekly Deals
Remember, Weekly Deals update on Tuesdays, so get these by Monday because there will be NEW Weekly Deals on Tuesday!

Did you know that as a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can get the Past Kits? AND you can add them to your online order too! Just add the item numbers to your order. If you are not yet a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can JOIN HERE. Make sure you see my name, DAWN STOCK, as your demonstrator.

You can order however many past kits you want (while supplies last, of course). AND if you like to craft with your friends, this is a FAST and EASY way to do it too! Especially after you show your creations to your friends. Many times, you'll hear - "I want to do that too!" Now you can! As a subscriber, you already have the stamp set. Just order extra kits and you have everything already cut and ready to go!

Don't forget about the prepaid subscriptions too! One month, three months, six months, or a whole year - nice and easy!

Designer Series Paper Special
Through July 31st only
Get them now and $AVE!
This is a GREAT way to get the DSPs. And we all know that the DSPs match colored cardstock and match the markers, and match the ribbons and buttons, oh my! Makes it WAY easier to make cards! I don't have to worry if this color red printed paper matches that color red in my cardstock. Heaven help me if I want to include ribbons or buttons!

If you are reading this via email, you will need to go to my blog to view the video.
It won't play in this email message. This is a GREAT video from Stampin' Up!

Yeah!!!! There are several sets that are now available! Check back after July 26th. I'm offering a class in August using two sets of Blendies and the Sweetbriar Rose stamp set

Happy Independence Day!

Crafters -

Here in Central Ohio, we celebrate Red, White and Boom. This year it was celebrated last night on July 3rd. While I was downtown for the fireworks, I wasn't outside to view them. BUT they sounded wonderful AND I was able to watch them on TV! They looked SPECTACULAR! Thanks so much to all the first responders who worked last night ensuring our safety!

One of my friends, Lynn, who is also a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, shared a photo of her June Paper Pumpkin (Pinwheel Party) with me. How nice is this?!
June 2014 Paper Pumpkin
Pinwheel Party
Lynn advised that SHE will be using these today! Thanks so much Lynn for sharing these!

To sign up for Paper Pumpkin, just click HERE and make sure you list me,  Dawn Stock, Grove City, Ohio, as your demonstrator! I'd love to showcase YOUR designs too!

And today, July 4th, I am able to spend it with my family! It's a beautiful day outside, hubby is already looking forward to a bicycle ride. But first, we are going to go bowling! The boy got a TURKEY (three strikes in a row!) on Wednesday and he beat me!

As you can easily tell by our scores, we are not on leagues, but we have fun! I think he's still in SEVENTH HEAVEN about the Turkey! SO, to try to redeem myself, we are having a rematch and this time, Dad's included. Now, Dad has been on a league before, so the odds are not in my favor.

Regardless of where we are, it is so nice to spend time with family and friends. Hope you are able to spend today with YOUR family and friends!

Enjoy YOUR Fourth of July! Let Freedom Reign!

Those who won our independence...
valued liberty both as an end, and as a means.
They believed liberty to be the secret of happiness
and courage to be the secret of liberty.
