Something Old, Something New

Nothing's borrowed, and there's even BLUE!

Baja Breeze blue on the top card and Night of Navy blue on the bottom two cards, that is!
And CLICK HERE for a FREE Tutorial too!

What do you think? Notice anything new?

I used the flower stamp from the Oh, Hello stamp set on both cards. The card base is Pink Pirouette for both cards - but it looks so different with the Pretty in Pink on the top "old" card and the Melon Mambo on both bottom two "new" cards. All the butterflies are the Bitty Butterfly Punch - and all of those little guys have ribbon in the center. So glad my Night of Navy Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon is staying! YEAH!!!!

The "old" card is on the top. I really like how subtle the card is - and so pretty IRL (in real life)! I'm going to miss my Kindness Matters stamp set too - such a GREAT and EASY stamp set to use!

Sshhh.... don't tell my Latte Joy Stampers but we are making this card as an extra card at our Saturday meeting. I'm going to be so sorry to see my FAVORITE Designer Series Paper - Fan Fair DSP - go bye-byes. It's even on sale too! And I am just bummed that Baja Breeze is already sold out. And my Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. And my Paper Daisies. Can you just hear the sniffling?  (sniff, sniff, blow nose)

Did you notice the really pretty and cheery DSP on the bottom two "new" cards? You got it - it's NEW - Gingham Garden DSP - and will be available with the new catalog! And did you notice the Tea Lace Paper Doilies - yup! (Although I would add a circle of whisper white behind the doily - I think it would show better.) So glad those are staying from the Spring Catalog!

I'm not sure whether I like the Tea Lace Paper Doily on the right or the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit on the left - which do YOU like better? I will tell you that the Sizzlit made with whisper white is WAY EASIER to sponge than the lace doily is! It's like that Tea Lace Doily is, you know, thin paper or something! Must sponge with care! (smile)

And did you notice the new stamp set - with the "Gee, thanks!" saying? Stay tuned for more on that one! I see myself using that one a whole lot!

Did I mention? As a demonstrator, I am able to preorder some of these! And even more than what is shown here! Actually, because hubby and I were in Salt Lake City last weekend for the Regional, we were able to purchase it while there and bring it home. I've had to be quiet (not a small feat I might add!) and not talk about it until TODAY! WHEW - that was really hard to do too!

I also placed my order today for my 2013-2014 catalogs. If you have placed a $50 or more order in the past  year, I have a catalog for you (hopefully soon!). You just need to stop over and pick it up! You know what - send me an email to remind me that you are interested in picking up your catalog. I'm telling folks that the catties should be here by May 20th, but I'm hoping it will be here WAY sooner!

Don't forget to let me know whether you like the Tea Lace Paper Doily or the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit better - just leave a comment and let me know which one YOU prefer!

Enjoy the cards and download the FREE Tutorial!

Columbus to Salt Lake City and Back Again!

Whew! What a fun few days we had!

Hubby and I were able to fly to Salt Lake City for a few days. I'll be updating more information in the days to come...  :)

My plane was delayed and re-routed and re-re-routed. So hubby got there before I did. We all made it safe and sound so that was the best part!

Check out what I saw when headed to the baggage area in Salt Lake City:
Do I have the BEST hubby or WHAT?!

GREAT, huh? Then off to get the rental car, check into the hotel, and find dinner - those little peanuts or pretzels don't really substitute for lunch!  :)

And I was able to see a couple of my friends while there too.
Me (red), Andrea (gold), and Paul (blue)

Me (red) and Lana (white)
Happy Anniversary Lana!
Beautiful gift you received from your hubby!

Andrea and Lana have just the BEST dispositions. I love when you meet people and they are just as nice in person as they are over the telephone and internet - LOVE that!

OH - and I have to do this little shout-out. Lana just had her wedding anniversary and her hubby must really love her (how could he not?!). She has the most beautiful gift celebrating their anniversary. If you see her in July, make sure you ask her about it. She just lights up!

Well, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for their help. Grandpa flew up to Ohio IN COLD, RAINY, APRIL to stay with the boy. Do I have the best folks for what?!

Can you tell? I am SO very blessed! Looking forward to blogging later this week too!

Seriously Monthly Kit

Seriously! That's the name of the April Paper Pumpkin Kit. LOVE IT!

What do you think? Here's my original card:

LOVE IT - and Seriously, it is so stinkin' easy! I think it only took me about 5 minutes to do the entire card. It took me longer to get it set up to take the picture!

Now, I have to be honest here, I really like the design on the card itself and I really like the blue waves pieces of cardstock, SO I cut the cards in half to make them go a little farther! Can't see the detail? Click on the picture of the card to see the close-up!

Everything on that card CAME WITH the kit! I only provided the adhesive. You got it - buttons and twine and the great stickers!

And did you notice what I'm Serious about? You got it - the "love you" sentiment. That's not exactly the stamped image. What it actually says is "love your guts" - the other stamp says  "you kick booty." I did think about stamping "love your booty" but decided to stay with just "love you" instead. Probably the wiser choice!

Seriously, I am off to Salt Lake City in a few hours. It's been a little hectic around here, but when I received this month's Paper Pumpkin, I just KNEW I had to make a card before I left. So, it is 1:15 am as I am typing this and my card is made! It's always fun to get those creative juices going.

If you are interested in joining my group to meet monthly and to make the monthly kit plus one extra "thing" - sign up! Join! Just make sure you see my name, Dawn Stock, Grove City, Ohio as your demonstrator. Join Now!

My Paper Pumpkin

Check out the cool cards we made for the March My Paper Pumpkin Party! Remember, this kit came with the pieces and parts to make four easy-peasy cards!
March / Starter Paper Pumpkin with a few extras
And four of the five cards shown have extra items on the card. Want to see how much is actually extra?
Original kit plus extras
YUP - that's it! The crafters were able to make one additional card with the four that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin'Up! Other than that one card (half a sheet of cardstock for the card and a quarter sheet for the inside), all other papers were SCRAPS! Yes, scraps! And I only used Basic Gray Ink!

Here are the close-ups. Can you tell which one is the "extra" card that was made? Does it look different than the others? Hmmm....

Card #1
I'll give you a hint - this is the card design from the package.
No additional items were used.
So this one isn't it...
Card #2
This one added a doily and a couple of scraps to make the blossom flower.
Added a small piece of basic gray stitched grosgrain ribbon to set it.
Card #3
Added scraps to make the pretty butterflies, a little bit of whisper white taffeta ribbon,
some rhinestones for the bling, and did you notice the extra green outline-type of circle?
Use the negative of the stickers that are left.
Card #4
Added a strip of Daffodil Delight to back the printed paper.
Ran the card through the Honeycomb Embossing Folder, used scraps to make the bird,
and a doily half was cut into thirds and layered using Stampin'Dimensionals.
Like the leaves? Used one of the jagged circles and cut the leaves out of it!

Card #5
Added a doily half, scraps to make the bird, and did you notice the Old Olive ribbon piece?
I saw that on another card and really liked how it dressed it up!

I LOVE this kit! While the first card design is nice, by just adding a minimal amount of extra "things," it really bumped up the card. Can you tell that I really like the little doilies that Stampin'Up! is offering in the Spring catalog too? They are just so pretty!

And with the FREE SHIPPING between now and Monday, you may want to add a couple of the items that I used when you place YOUR order. (All items are listed at the end of this posting.) Just click on the link and you will be taken to my online store to order (doublecheck that you see my name, Dawn Stock, in the top right corner when you place your order).

And I still have the negatives (or skeletons) of the other sticker punchouts from the kit. I have used negatives in the simply scrappin' kit classes the last couple of months, so many of you are familiar with doing this. It is something that is really easy to do and it looks really nice!

So many options and such a deal at $19.95 - which includes shipping! You can join in the Paper Pumpkin subscription by clicking here to Join Now! Make sure you have listed my name (Dawn Stock, Grove City, Ohio) and YOU can snag the invitation to come and make your monthly kit's projects here at my home. We meet the last Saturday of the month and you bring your Paper Pumpkin kit, along with your Crafter's Kit, and we will put them all together. This one took LESS THAN AN HOUR! How often can you make five different cards in less than an hour like we did? Thank you Stampin'Up! for offering this wonderful subscription!

So - could you tell which one was not like the others? It was card #4, the one with the turquoise bird. I used a half sheet of Basic Gray cardstock, placing a quarter sheet of Whisper White cardstock inside the card. The cards that came in this kit were Basic Gray on the outside with white on the inside of the card. Since we do not sell that kind of cardstock, I improvised, adapted, and overcame!

Hope you have enjoyed this blog posting and the beautiful cards. Remember to join Paper Pumpkin by the 10th to receive the April kit. And it's a surprise - just like our monthly magazine subscriptions - can't wait to see what the kit is - and what we will do with it on the 27th! See you here!

Color Refresh, FREE Shipping, and Carol Carriveau - Congratulations!

WOW! Last night, I logged onto the Stampin'Up! demonstrator side of the website and found out about the watercolor pencils and crayons, but this morning - some MORE news!

Color Refresh

They are doing a Color Refresh!
I am SO tickled with the return of Pear Pizzazz and ELATED that Wisteria Wonder is staying. I really LOVE that color. Although I am going to miss my Baja Breeze and River Rock, I understand... The only constant in life is change. (smile)

BUT, and this is news you will want to read:
Beginning April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (this means ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, anything of those retiring/discontinued color products), will be available only while supplies last. That means some of the products will not be available through the retired list period. Stampin'Up! has tried to anticipate the demand based on historical sales information, but please keep in mind - sometimes there are surprises and even the best guesses won't always be correct.
SO, what that means is, if there is something you want, get it while you can!

Here's a video about the Color Refresh!

LOVE IT - and it shows the NEW color of Smoky Slate. I have missed my old color of Going Gray and Smoky Slate is PERFECT! I'm so looking forward to the color combination of Cherry Cobbler - Smoky Slate - Basic Gray. Who knows it? You got it - Ohio State Buckeyes! YEAH!!!!! Can't you just hear the crowd going wild?

Did you notice what she said at the end about getting some of the colors products FREE? Listen again - I'm anxiously awaiting more information on that!

Free Shipping
On April 6th, 7th, and 8th, they are offering FREE SHIPPING - on EVERYTHING! Well, not expedited orders, of course, but regular shipping is FREE! It begins on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at 12:00 AM (Mountain Time) and ends on Monday, April 8th, 2013 (6:50pm Mountain Time for phone in orders; 11:50pm Mountain Time for online orders). Limited to United States orders only.

Carol Carriveau
And finally, Carol Carriveau - Please send me an email! I really appreciate the uplifting comments you have left on my blog! You won the blog candy in March - but I need to get your snail mail address from you so I can send it to you. It's the Reason to Smile set in Clear Mount. It's still here and ready to be sent to you. You can use the "Email Me" button at the top right of the blog (just under my blog header). Looking forward to hearing from you!

And finally, since you have read this far, I have some other news. As a demonstrator, we get sneak peeks. Stampin'Up! has been sharing a few with everyone lately - aren't they so much fun?! Well... one of the sneak peeks they have let us see is... three different stamp sets, three different packages of papers, some new punches, buttons, and ribbons. And that's all I'm sayin'! Are you interested in knowing more - before everyone else finds out about it? Well - JOIN - become a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator! I'd love to have you join my team of Latte Joy Stampers. You can click HERE to find out more information! Contact me if you have any questions.

Watercolor Pencils and Crayons are Discontinued?!?!

Sad but true. Stampin'Up! just announced that due to unforeseen problems with the supplier, they have decided to discontinue those two products. A couple have been on Backorder for about a week and will no longer be available, effective immediately.

BUT, there is some good news! They still have the remaining collections of the Watercolor Wonder Crayons available to order. They are only available while supplies last, so get 'em before they are gone!
Subtles, Item #119802
Neutrals, Item #119805
Regals, Item #119803
I remember when these came out - and they are so much fun. I hate to see that the pencils are already gone. They were some of my favorites to use.

And, thanks to my wonderful husband for fixing my computer, I have now updated my blog header.

I used the FREE April Showers Wallpaper, and also the wonderful 2013 Quotable Calendar. I have used the quotes from this one so many times!

If you haven't yet downloaded the FREE April Showers Wallpaper, GO! Enjoy the FREEBIES that Stampin'Up! is offering!

If Nothing Ever Changed, There'd Be No Butterflies...

LOVE that quote by the famous guy - Anonymous.

Well, first and foremost, my computer has died. She has gotten me through a whole lot, and her CPU fan has gone to the great big CPU fan heaven in the sky. So while hubby is fixing her, I will be working off the iPad. Heaven help us all! I know just enough on this thing to be dangerous! (Seriously, I had to sneak onto his computer after midnight to add the card below, how sad is that? smile) This also means that my blog header will be a day or two until it can get updated...  :(

But back to the quote, did you see the April 'Best of' Series stamps yet? You got it - Best of Butterflies!!!

April's Best of Butterflies

And I'd LOVE to share this butterfly card with you. It is the extra card that my crafters will be making at my April 'Fly Into Spring With... Butterflies' class. This class was originally scheduled for March but has been rescheduled for April 27th.

Don't you just LOVE it? I know I do! How did we get those butterflies on the edge of the card, you may ask? Fussy cutting! But not too fussy cutting, promise!

Look forward to seeing you soon!
