Convention - FINAL DAY!!!

Well, we are officially home, still catching up on sleep (smile).

Here are some pictures from the final day (which was yesterday, but with flying home, I am just now posting these):
As luck would have it, guess who we sat behind on Saturday? For those of you who do NOT recognize this lovely lady, this would be Sherrill Graff. Sherrill is the moderator of an online group I belong to. She is one of the nicest people I've "met" (we only had emailed previously). She does a lot with Ronald McDonald House Charities in her area. She is also the one that reserves the block of hotel rooms for this same group. She was gracious enough to pose for a picture with me - Thanks Sherrill!

What a cute mom-and-daughter picture huh? I really liked how it was framed within the heart stamp prop behind them. Sara (the daughter, on the right) sat down first and in fun family fashion, Shelli (the mom, on the left) sat down on her lap! And then Shelli demonstrated, on Sara's lap! They eventually each had their own seats... What a GREAT family moment...

Fast forward to about 4:30pm-ish... All of a sudden, confetti begins to fall from the ceiling...

and all of the employees begin running to all of the demonstrators. This is a picture of part of the organized chaos:
AND only the demonstrators that remained received...

this gift from Stampin'Up! as Convention ended.

You probably do not recognize these (yet). The stamp set is the new Level 2 Hostess set, the new Designer Series Paper, and the new Glitter glass - all will be in the Holiday mini and are available beginning September 1st. SU! also gave each of us a Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin'Pad -- how great is that?!

And with this, I'm heading to sleep. I don't know about Stephanie and Geneva, but I'm tired. Thankfully, my wonderful family took me to dinner this evening (after I had a short nap), so I didn't have to cook AND I have enough of my dinner leftover for lunch tomorrow.

God is good!

Hope you have enjoyed these updates from Convention. Convention is only available to active demonstrators. If you would be interested in joining Dawn's Dames, or ANY other SU! group, contact me or your local demonstrator. Now is the time to sign up and you can begin to make YOUR reservations for next year with us!

Convention - Day 3

WHEW! We were able to get about SIX WHOLE HOURS OF SLEEP last night! We woke at 5am and I was on the shuttle at 6:30-ish. You see, today was the Recruit Crew Breakfast with Shelli and staff members of Stampin'Up! I was able to attend this today because my friend Jeannette signed up to be a demonstrator during my Recruit Crew Training. Thanks again Jeannette!

Shelli Gardner (CEO and Co-founder) at the Recruit Crew Breakfast with 290-ish of our closest friends  :)

This is Jill. Doesn't she have the prettiest smile? She is one of the wonderful presenters that have shared their wisdom with us. Oh, and she sings beautifully too (keep reading for more on that!)

She and Bonnie (below) did a tag team presentation yesterday and they also sang the song "Sisters." Anyone else remember that song? These two did it WAY BETTER than the original two ladies, complete with feathers!  :)  Thanks to my wonderful husband and his new camera, I was even able to record it. We have been humming it ALL DAY LONG!!!! (and that's a good thing, in case you were wondering...)

This is Bonnie - a FABULOUS representative of Stampin'Up! and the same Bonnie I referenced above with Jill!

Bonnie is the funniest person and has the most amazing voice. Talk about sharing one's gifts and talents - She and Jill sing beautifully together! And you should have heard her today presenting. I'm paraphrasing now, but when she was explaining how to open our stamp pads, well... she compared it to men. You "push" them away, and then "pull" them back. Pull out one of your SU! stamp pads and try it - she's actually right! Of course, she then advised that she is single, so... She had us rolling on the floor laughing (ROFL).

Did you notice my "groovy" lanyard? Only Recruit Crew members received those! For those of you who are demonstrators - make sure you sign up for the newest Recruit Crew. It is just wonderful training - and training that you can actually use to grow your business!

We had some wonderful classes today. I think the best one was this one:

and here is a closeup of one of the pages:

Talk about assembly line. Geneva would stamp while I would use the marker, then we would switch. Move to the next station. Now, I'm pretty good at the assembly line process, but WOW!

Here are the make-and-takes we made yesterday. We have found the easiest way is the SPA way (Stamp-Punch-Assemble). So even though we stamped and punched yesterday, we didn't get to assemble until tonight. (smile) All have been put together and are packaged to head home tomorrow.

It is WAY past my bedtime - can you believe it is actually 12:30am MT? I cannot. So, I will post more tomorrow. It will be the final day of Convention. And, are you ready for this? Geneva, Stephanie and I already made our reservations for NEXT year's Convention! What do ya think? Think we are having a good time? Well, you'd be correct!

Thanks for sharing this little "hobby" (or cult as my husband calls it) with me - the journey is a fun one!

Convention Day 2

WOW!!! It is only 10:48pm MT, but my body is still on EST (12:48am!). AND I get to have breakfast with Shelli in the morning (that would be Shelli Gardner, the co-founder and CEO of Stampin'Up!). She has invited all of the Recruit Crew (the first Recruit Crew) to a breakfast in the morning. Looking forward to it.

AND you will NEVER guess who I actually met today! Patty Bennett, as in pattystamps.com Patty Bennett! AND she actually posed for a picture with me! She probably thinks I'm some kind of stalker the way I was hovering waiting to get my picture taken with her, but I don't care. She is just FABULOUS! I have cased her work and linked to her blog before. Feel free to go there to her site. Again, she is just FABULOUS - and just as nice in person as she is on her blog.

Drum roll please.... there is a WONDERFUL Stampin'Up! promotion beginning July 27th through August 31st. Book your workshop now! For workshops that total $350 during those dates, the hostess will receive an ADDITIONAL $25 in hostess benefits! So, not only do you receive a FREE stamp set (your choice of a level 1 or level 2) and the regular $40 in hostess benefits, the additional monies makes it $65 FREE merchandise! $65!! Call me to schedule your workshop now.

We did our Make-and-takes today. Geneva and I have found that the easiest way to do them is the follow the SPA treatment (SPA stands for Stamp-Punch-Assemble). We still have to put them together, so those pictures will show tomorrow night.

We went to the Awards Night (nothing for us, but it was so nice to have faces to go with some of the names...). So without further ado, I'm headed over to talk to Mr. Sandman right now... I want to be fresh for my breakfast dates with SU! tomorrow!  :)

Convention Goodies

Crafters -

WOW! Stephanie, Geneva, and I are all here and in our hotel room. Here are some of the goodies we received today:

The orange bag is the bag we received for Convention with our new stamp sets. The brown bag with the is one of those reusable bags. AND I purchased the laptop bag. It also has a matching tote (thanks to Stephanie for letting me borrow hers for this picture).

We all purchased the new aprons, and there is a new single stamp that says the same thing. The blue thing is the new punch template. ONLY available to demonstrators.

AND, for the Recruit Crew only members, I received a neat lanyard. ONLY available to Recruit Crew members! So you see, I really am special...  :)

UPDATE - Well the pictures are not uploading here in the hotel. I'll try again in the morning. Although it is only 9:02pm MT, my body is still at 11:02 pm EST...

NEWEST UPDATE - YEAH! The pictures loaded...

Convention Here We Come!!!!

Yup, it is 11:30pm and I am still packing for tomorrow. There's a shock!

Stephanie, Geneva, and I leave at o-dark-thirty to head to Salt Lake City for Convention 2010! This year's theme is "Share What You Love" - can't wait to see all the goodies we will get to make this year.

And we are NOT renting a vehicle this year to see the Riverton campus (where they have all those wonderful supplies that are delivered to us...). See this post from August 5th, 2009 - last year's Convention, if you'd like a good laugh! Geneva is on the left in both pictures. We were stylin' in our ride, I can tell you that...

I will be updating my blog nightly. I know we will be hitting Memento Mall once we arrive, so I hope to post some of the pictures of those goodies too!

Remember to subscribe if you wish to receive the updates automatically.

Another New Demonstrator!

Crafters -

A former demonstrator, who was also in one of my Hostess Clubs, has joined Dawn's Dames! Please join me in welcoming my friend Janet to the SU! family. Currently, SU! is offering a special for former demonstrators. Basically, it is for the business supplies only, including a box of catalogs! That alone is worth the $35 cost!

This Rejoin special is only available July 1 through 31. AND it cannot be done online. There is a special signup form that has to be mailed in. Don't wait until the last minute on this one.

Stampin'Up! is contacting demonstrators who have left over the past three years, however ALL former demonstrators are welcome to sign up. NOTE: Only demonstrators who resigned on or before March 31, 2010, are eligible for this offer. AND that date does not apply to any demonstrator who dropped as a part of the quarterly drop process. Any demonstrator who has dropped as a result of not meeting the quarterly minimum is eligible for this offer.

Contact me if you are interested in more information!

Good luck and WELCOME JANET!!!
