Coffee and Cards

This has been just ONE of the BEST weeks!

Why is that? you may ask. Well...

I've had THREE classes this week. And today was my monthly Coffee and Cards class. We had several ladies who are absolute PROs at cardmaking. And one of the ladies brought a friend with her. You see my friend Jenny just joined about a week ago and she brought a new friend with her. Jenny was a PRO at showing her friend how everything works!

And I was so glad there were so many ladies here today! You see, we had some really bad weather for a day or two in December. My December Coffee and Cards was full, but since we'd had the ice storm the night before... well, my friend Pat was the only one able to attend! We had a wonderful one-on-one class, and with her being a new stamper (but longtime crafter!) it was really nice. But this time she had more than me to talk with! I think she had a good time!

We made six cards and the case to place the cards into. Many of the ladies work and let's face it! You need cards at work! With the decorated case, it makes it so nice to leave on your desk or place it somewhere to just brighten your day!

This was what was made today!

And, because I always make extras, I made one complete set including the decorated case, but I liked that design. So I made it into a card too!

Not sure which one I like the best. What do you think? Card or case?

Hey, Chick! - Stampin'Up!

Have you seen this CUTE little stamp set? It's called "Hey, Chick" and it is FREE with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration order!
Hey, Chick
#143328 (Wood)
#143331 (Clear)

Well, when I first saw this in the Sale-A-Bration brochure, gotta tell ya - was not impressed with any of the chick-a-dees!

I know.

I know.

I know.

Everyone in the free world LOVED this set as soon as they saw it! Yeah... not me...

BUT since I had my first ever one-day retreat last weekend, I was using several new stamp sets, new Designer Series Papers (DSPs), ribbons, you get the idea. And since I did have this stamp set, I thought, "eh... why not?" So I did!

Check it out!

How stinkin' cute is this?! We combined it with the 3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (#143601 - FREE with a qualifying Sale-A-Bration order!), and the absolutely beautiful Lace Doilies (#142793). LOVE THEM!

Hope this cute little card brightens your day too! And don't you just LOVE how the Floral Boutique Designer Series Papers work with this little cutie? ME TOO!

First EVER One-Day Latte Retreat!

WHEW!

As many of you know, I have been planning my first EVER One-Day Latte Retreat! And it was today (January 21st).

WE. HAD. A. BLAST.

There were ten ladies - and we began promptly at 9am. I'll show some of the goodies later this week, but check these out!
Check out THIS Chorus Line!

Because EACH of the attendees is TOTALLY AWESOME!

A Latte Retreat wouldn't be complete without coffee and treats!
I just LOVE stamping on burlap!
Flourishing Phrases is a GREAT set to use on burlap!
Check out my NEW Coffee Cozy too!
LOVE IT!

I loved adding the little gifts into their goody bags. The twine dolls and burlap bags were just two of their little surprise and delight gifts. They were the most fun to make!

Well, actually the MOST fun at the retreat was the Yankee Swap! We had 10 prizes, totalling $100. These ranged from ribbon to stamp sets to DSP. The most popular - AND STOLEN - prize was the Black Marker with the InColor Doilies! That prize was stolen THREE times before it found a permanent home!

Here are a few photos of my friends crafting. Can you tell? I am ABUNDANTLY blessed!
Set up the night before

They're HERE!
And having fun!

Best friends whether crafting, singing, or leading a Bible Study at church
AND they are my newest Team Members!
Welcome Faye and Nancy!

And a VERY special shout-out to my team member (and my mom!), Donna. I could NOT have done this without her. She not only was jack of all trades, she was the chief cook AND bottlewasher and was appreciated by all! She even had chocolate chip cookies - fresh from the oven - for us as a special dessert after our lunch! MOMS ROCK!

Latte Joy Team Meeting Last Night!

Oh WOW!

Stamping is just so much more fun when you can share with with friends and family!

Usually we have a ROAD TRIP to go to that state up north to attend my team leader's meeting, but this month the weather was a little dicey. Thankfully, she had an online version for us AND showed us the cards we would have made. She then posted a written tutorial for us so we could CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the card designs.

So, using my fearless leader's designs, check out what we made last night at my Latte Joy team meeting!

Paper Pumpkin - Another Great Year!

Crafters -

The January 2017 Paper Pumpkin has now shipped. It's called Adoring Arrows and I cannot wait to get my paws on it! I think the surprise is one of the best parts of this subscription program.

Want to see what I think is the ABSOLUTE BEST part of the subscription program?

That Stampin'Up! gives us the supplies and the ideas and then lets us RUN with them! You see I meet each month with my Pumpkineers. We make a couple of things, using our kits, but using them on alternate projects.

Want to see my absolute FAVORITE card I made using the December kit, Another Great Year?

There were so many decorated window sheets in this kit, I think I'm going to make a few extra of the shaker cards!

Each month I provide my Pumpkineers with a PDF of alternate designs. This is SUCH a GREAT program. If you are not a subscriber yet, what's stopping you? Especially NOW!

Did you know you can join with a 3-month prepaid subscription for just $55? AND when you do that, you also get to choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! SCORE!

So, seriously - what's stopping you? Here's the link to JOIN NOW!

Oh - and one more. Did you realize that you could purchase TWO of the 3-month prepaid subscriptions for just $110? That's a $4 savings from the regular 6-month prepaid subscription! If you are looking for a GREAT Valentine's gift, THIS is the one to get! Activate one of the prepaids now, save or GIVE the other one to a friend! What a wonderful way to bless someone else!

Coffee and Cards - BIRTHDAY cards!

Crafters -

Well... 2017 is firmly here! I'm traveling today (to that state up north) with my mom. You see my mom is up from Florida and we are going to my Team Leader's monthly meeting! Mom's also one of my team members! She said she was coming up in January to celebrate Christmas with us but I think she really scheduled her arrival date so she could go to the RubberQueens meeting - JUST SAYIN'!  :)

I am doing something a little different for the January Coffee and Cards Class. For this month (and if it is a success, we will do it again!), we will be making SIX birthday cards. When you RSVP by Saturday, January 14th, I'll include the Clear Case for you to decorate and store your cards - my gift to you for registering early! You must RSVP by Thursday, January 26th to attend the class, but if you wait until then - you will not receive a case with it. So sign up early!

Want to see a little sneak peek of some of the cards? The large photo is the decorated clear case.

It's ALIVE!

Crafters -

It's been a little bit of a stressful day for Stampin'Up!

You see the new catalog was supposed to go LIVE today. Yeah... sometimes computers don't work as well as we want them to.

BUT, Sara Douglass, Stampin'Up! CEO has now posted that everything is up and running!

You can place your orders online - make sure you use HOST CODE UU6KNS2F - and you will receive five (5) free cards from me - just something to thank you for choosing me as your demonstrator. You can place your orders by clicking on the RIGHT side of this blog - the Host Code is also listed there - or you can click HERE (if you prefer to cut-and-paste: https://www.stampinup.com/ecweb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=2158844).

And when I was telling our teenager about this and found out that it was now up and working, the boy helped me with this!

Yes, we are a family of nerds! Young Frankenstein is one of the boy's (and his father's!) favorite movies! I remember going and seeing this MANY MANY MANY years ago. We did this as a night out with our moms when I was in 4-H. The movie is a classic and it always reminds me of my mom. Although, yes, there are a NUMBER of classic lines in this movie too! And, no - I don't remember WHY we would take our moms to this show! We were pre-teens and it was the 70s..  :)

OH - and I did update the catalogs on the right side of the blog too! If you do not yet have the Spring Occasions Catalog or the Sale-A-Bration brochure, you can view them digitally.

Color In the New Year!

I LOVE to color!

My husband gave me one of those "Journaling Bibles" for our anniversary this year. LOVE IT! My mom, aunt, many friends have these too. Our church even offers a Bible Journaling Class once a month.I just don't get enough time to color...

Those coloring books are really nice, but... what to do with the colorings after you are done?

Well...

One of the GREAT Sale-A-Bration items is a new coloring paper. It's called Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper. There are 12 sheets (3 each of 4 designs). And it's one of my favorite items for Sale-A-Bration!

Want to see what we made today during the class?

Here are a few closeups of the individual cards

Birthday Blooms
Such pretty colors using the new Watercolor Pencils!

Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper
So bright and beautiful using markers and aqua painters

Did you notice the extra, the fifth card, using the Rose Wonder set? I had used the thinlits and a piece of the white cardboard from a DSP package for the mask. After sponging it a few times, I thought it was WAY too pretty to throw away! So I made an extra card using the colored outline!
The colored thinlit outline was TOO pretty to throw away!

This was made VERY easy using my fine-tip glue pen too.

Looking forward to my first workshop of the year - it's Saturday! WOO HOO!

Hope to see you at at class soon!
