MAGIC-al Birthday/Waterfall Card - Free Tutorial

This is such a fun birthday card!

And there is a FREE Tutorial with your $50 online merchandise order, using Host Code 6FJ7A93H. You must place your order by September 20th - the Host Code will expire that day. You can view my online store HERE.

Waterfall cards have been around for a while, like many years!, and I wanted to do something special for my son's 16th birthday.

You see he plays a game called "Magic The Gathering." When I was in school many many moons ago, my friends played Dungeons and Dragons. This is basically D&D in a playing card format. That is WAY the layman's definition, it's more than that, but that helps, right?  :)
The BEFORE part of the boy's Birthday/Waterfall Card

So, as soon as I finished my Facebook Live video today (you can see it HERE), we are going to the store to get him some more Magic cards for his birthday. He has BINDERS of these things, so there is NO picking them out for him; he has to do it himself!

When you watch this video, you will get a good laugh! Make sure you watch it the whole way through for the full effect! If there was a piece of paper I couldn't find, it was today. If there was something that would rip, tear, or otherwise fall apart, it was today. BUT, it was still a fun day and there are several tips and tricks in this video.

After we return from the Magic Store later, I'll finish this card and post the final result. Make sure you subscribe by email (there's a box on the right hand side when viewing on your desktop view), so you can see it right away.

Thanks for watching my Facebook Lives! I'm having such a fun time with these.

**NOTE: Make sure you SAVE-THE-DATE for Wednesday, September 20th, 2017, at 11:30 am Eastern! I am having a guest stamper! It is Dan Wesley (Wes), from http://nolimitshammerharder.com/. Can't wait to immerse him in Dazzling Diamonds and Wink of Stella Glimmer techniques! He's a great sport and you will SO enjoy next week's Facebook Live on my Business Page.

Holiday Catalog is Here!

Woo hoo!

It's officially September 1st! You know what that means?

The Holiday Catalog is HERE! Have you seen it yet? If you are one of my customers, you have! Everyone who has placed an order in the last few months has theirs!

Want to see something? I've added it to my blog (for those viewing on the desktop view, it's just to the right, near the top).

Holiday Catalog
September 1, 2017 - January 2, 2018
(Product availability may be limited toward the end of the catalog sale period)

This catalog is one of the best (in my humble opinion). I wish I could order one of everything, and MANY of several of the items (can you say Foil Snowflakes?) Now, as a demonstrator, we get to order some of the items ahead of time - so we can prepare for our upcoming classes, parties, etc.

When you follow my Facebook Page, you've probably already seen several of my recent videos. I've shown my "box o' goodies" from my preorders, several cards/projects using new items, and just having fun with these new items. I do a Facebook Live every Wednesday at 11:3 am Eastern. It's usually about 30 minutes long because, here in central Ohio, there is a weekly tornado siren test on Wednesday at 12:00 pm (noon). Our dog takes it as his personal challenge to howl at the Tornado Siren Test each and every week! He will wake up from a dead sleep to howl at that thing! So, I try to get the video completed by noon. Sometimes, it works; other times, it goes a little longer. (You can see my Facebook Business Page HERE.)

Hope you have enjoyed this! What is YOUR favorite item from the new catalog?

Coffee and Cards

I just LOVE this class!

You see, every month, usually the FOURTH Saturday of the month (but that is changing due to Craft Fairs), I offer a Coffee and Cards Class. You just bring your favorite coffee, adhesives, and scissors, and we make eight cards with envelopes.

The cost is just $20 or it is free with a minimum purchase placed during the class. I also offer a TO GO option (just add $5 and you can pick up your cards the next day!). If you live long distance and want the cards, let me know how you want them shipped. I can add that cost and send you an invoice.

Want to see what we made this past weekend?
Coffee and Cards Class
August 2017

Now, I had my first series class on Thursday evening (Christmas Card Series Class), so it was a LOT of fun to come up with a few additional ideas for Saturday's "regular" class. You can read about Thursday's Christmas Card Class HERE.) And since the Christmas card in this class was already designed, it was a LOT of fun with the others.

The next Coffee and Cards class is on Saturday, September 23rd. Look forward to seeing you at a class soon!

Christmas Card Series Classes

We had so much fun on Thursday evening playing with a few Christmas Cards!

Want to see what we made?
Christmas Card Series Class #1
August 17, 2017

The Lovely As a Tree was the favorite hands down! We used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. The photo doesn't show it well, but when you place little dots of glue on the trees and then sprinkle the glitter, well, it pulls some of the color from the Tranquil Tide ink and makes a REALLY cool effect! WAY prettier IRL!

We actually had a bit of a running joke around here while crafting. I think it's time for Lovely As a Tree to go away. It's been around for a while. My friend Suzanne says it was her FIRST stamp set that she purchased ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO! and it still remains one of her favorites. **NOTE: I sold TWO of them at the class, so I guess it's here to stay for a while more...

And, as an added surprise, because my friends, customers, and team members took a chance and attended my FIRST in the Christmas Card Series Class, I also placed out my BOGO sale! So, not only did they receive chocolate, they made 8 cards with envelopes, practiced several techniques, AND purchased from my BOGO - a good night was had by all!

The next class is on Thursday, September 21st from 7p-9p. I look forward to seeing you at a class soon!

I LOVE MY JOB!!!!

Crafters -

How often do you hear that, in a NON-sarcastic way? How often do you hear that, and KNOW that the person really means it?

You know that old saying, it goes something like this... "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." That's it!

I retired a few years ago. I enjoyed my job. I liked most of the people I worked with. I still keep in touch with some of them through Facebook, crafting, church, etc. Matter of fact, I just saw a friend I used to work with at the grocery store the other day! That's the fun part of living in a small town environment. Seriously!

But check this out! These are a few ladies from my team and I was VERY blessed to spend a few hours with them this evening at our monthly team meeting!
A few team members
with their August 2017 team meeting projects!

And want to see what we actually made? I still like the Keurig box the best, but I think the fancy fold was the MOST enjoyed by all! And we did a new 2-step stamping using a new stamp set and some new papers and ribbon!
August 2017 Team Projects

Actually ALL of tonight's projects were made with new products! And for the ladies who attended, several have not yet placed their preorders so they don't have a Holiday catalog, they each received a copy of the Holiday catalog! Laugh if you will, but I'm still "old-school!" I actually LIKE printed paper. I LIKE paper-paper books over the digital e-books. I LIKE receiving a card in the mail! You know what I mean.

Having a catalog in hand, to me, is like when I was a kid. Mom and Dad would receive the Sears Christmas catalog and we'd get to look through it. Please tell me I'm not the only one who did that? Having that catalog in hand, just makes it all prettier!

BUT the photos in the Holiday catalog just do NOT do justice to the papers, the ribbons, the stamp sets/thinlits/punches/bundles!; they are just WAY over the top for me, this year! I wish I could afford to just say "one of each please" but I know that's not gonna happen! So I bought a little of this, and a little of that, and we were able to play with some of it tonight.

It was so much fun hearing the crafters talk about how pretty the paper was, how this or that just didn't look that interesting in the catalog, and how playing with ALL of what we did - well, I think a few more preorders will be placed in the future! It's always much more fun when we play with our new toys!

Our team leader always tells us to "take your team along" with us. I am VERY blessed that I get to go along with these wonderful ladies on this journey! Can't wait until our next meeting in September!

Hope you enjoyed these fun projects. If you are interested in joining my team, you can read more about what we do at our meetings HERE!

Facebook LIVE - Nature Sings!

Crafters -

I really enjoy this Facebook Live thing! LOVE showing how to make cards and different tips/tricks on how to do things!

Want to see today's Facebook Live? I used Nature Sings, which is available in the big catalog, but you could VERY easily use the new Carols of Christmas bundle that is effective TODAY!

Who knew you could use my FAVORITE paper from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper for a Christmas card?

And with the Holiday catalog coming out on September 1st, there are SEVERAL sets that can be used for this design!

Ok, held you in suspense long enough. Here's the card and video on my Dawn Stock, Stampin'Up Demonstrator Facebook page!

THIRD Latte Retreat!

My THIRD ever Latte Retreat is Saturday, August 5th from 9a-1p.

The last day to register is Sunday, July 30th. We are making a few WOW items this time so I am limiting the number of attendees to just six for the day.

I just did a One Sheet Wonder with my team last week when we had our potluck. It was a BIG hit! Gotta let you in on a little secret though. The last time I did these was TWO years ago. And when I looked at my "old" tutorial? Yeah - that was from 2007! Seriously!

SO, because we will be using the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack (some absolutely BEAUTIFUL 6" x 6" papers!), can't really do the traditional One Sheet Wonder (OSW) on those. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome. That's what I did!

Want a little sneak peek? Check it out!

Complete with a box so you can "gift" it to someone! There are snippets of FIVE of the cards, but we will actually make SIX cards with this box! Wouldn't this make a really cute gift for a teacher, friend, or friends who just wants some cards to have in their desk?

Sunday is the last day to register. You can see the deets HERE!

Team Meeting with HOST SETS!

...and the crowd goes WILD!!!!  AAAAHHHHHH!!!

*I've made the links active.
If you want to see one of the complete stamp sets,
or get more information,
just click on the BOLD/underlined wording and it will take you there!*

Ok, seriously. The Host stamp sets in the catalog are REALLY nice! This is the FIRST year that I have not only wanted one specifically, but MORE than one specifically! Make sure you read to the end of this posting so you can see ALL the Stampin' Rewards information, including pictures!

So, at our Latte Joy Stampers Team Meeting last week, we made FOUR cards using FOUR different Host stamp sets. Typically at our meetings, we make just three cards. But who can really choose just ONE favorite stamp set, right?

Want to see what we made?

Origami Men's Shirts AND June 2017 Team Meeting!

Crafters -

Didn't you just LOVE those cute Origami shirts we did for Father's Day at Ronald McDonald House?

Now, those have been around a while! I can remember showing those at our Card Ministry a few YEARS ago when we made some men's cards!

So that was on Sunday. THEN on Tuesday, I had my team meeting. We had a BLAST! There were only five in attendance, but two of the ladies watched us on our Facebook Live video of the team meeting - just for my team members! Especially since I have TWO who are in FLORIDA! It's a little bit of a commute to come up here.  :)

Well... yesterday I did a Facebook LIVE video showing how to make those cute men's shirts - how to fold, assemble and even place onto a card! AND I showed the items we made at our Team Meeting!

Ronald McDonald House - Happy Father's Day!

Crafters -

Sunday was Father's Day. We lost my dad to cancer (#cancersucks) two years ago. But my husband was able to spend the weekend with his mom. He came home Sunday morning and we were blessed to spend time with our son and my mom.

I schedule our crafting day at the Columbus, Ohio Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) for the THIRD Sunday of the month. However, last month, we crafted on Mother's Day, so I had thought "let's keep the crafting on Father's Day" too! It was just as big a HIT!

Thankfully, my mom is visiting for the summer AND she's part of my team, so guess who went with me to RMHC? And we met my friend and teammate Linda there also! Check out the table before we started...
That's my mom at the end of the table!

And here are some of the FABULOUS cards the crafters made. Read to the bottom of this post for the backstories on some of the cards....
Two brothers made these. LOVE how they BOTH picked out the different RED shirts!
AND they did their cards at slightly different times - you can tell these two are related!
O-H! (I-O!)
Don't you just LOVE how this young man decorated and wrote on his card?!
I DO! LOVE IT!!!!!
(My cousin Lori still signs her cards with "XO" and it ALWAYS makes me smile!)
Now, THESE - there's more of a story here. Read on....

This last photo. I have some "splaining" to do. (Anyone else remember I Love Lucy? LOVED that show!)

A new Dad made the card on the top left (green) - their child is currently in the hospital. This new dad was totally AWESOME - He was such a jokester! When I took the photo of his card, he told me that he hoped the other cards didn't feel bad because his was so good! I can tell you, humor makes a LOT of situations much better when parenting! His child is so blessed to have him as a Dad! We missed crafting with him last month on Mother's Day, but crafted with him on Father's Day. I pray that he and his family are back home soon! {{{PRAYERS AND HUGS FOR HEALING!}}}

The young lady holding her TWO cards - one is for her Dad. She was there with her sister, who's baby is in the hospital. So she made one for the baby's Dad too!

And check out the red shirt on the right side of the bottom photo. Do you see that she wrote "LOOK INSIDE" and drew a little circle/bubble around it? THAT is the best part of this card! You see, it is an origami-style folding for the shirt, BUT when you pull down the shirt front, it reveals a space for a secret message! THAT was so much fun for the kids (and the adults)! Praying for Baby "H" too! ***I will be doing my weekly Facebook LIVE on Wednesday, June 21st at 11:30 am Eastern and I'll show a quick how-to-make this shirt!***

And the last photo with the nine cards? Those are the leftovers we had. We made them and left them at the front desk for anyone to take. We brought enough for 30 cards, and this is all we had left. I'd say we did pretty well!

We will craft at the Columbus RMHC on Sunday, July 16th. IF you are a Stampin'Up! demonstrator and have volunteered with Stampin'Up! to help with the Columbus house, I hope to see you there!

And finally, hug and support those Dads out there! I came home and gave BOTH the boy and the hubby hugs and kisses. We are abundantly blessed...
