Card Classes! I Have a Schedule!!!

Woo Hoo!

I have SO got to tell you - I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST last weekend with that online convention. I have so many ideas rattling around in my head. And I am working so hard on my Baggie Books. Can't wait for you to see them on February 6th at my workshop! (If you haven't yet let me know you are coming, please do! I'll be making phone calls this week to follow up.)

So, I have been playing with my Class Schedule. You can see that by clicking on the top where it says "Classes" or you can click HERE to be taken directly to it.

I'm going to try something new. WAY outside of my comfort level, but I'm going to begin offering not just one, but TWO classes each month! I did a class on Friday for my aunt and some of her friends. We had so much fun and everyone left with some great cards! It was such a success! So, thanks to Aunt Linda (and her friend Mary Ellen for scheduling it), I'm going to pattern a monthly card class after this and I'm calling...

Coffee and Cards
We will meet the THIRD Saturday of each month, from 9a-12p. The cost is $20. You will bring your favorite coffee (or beverage) with a covered lid, your favorite adhesives, and your scissors. You will leave with 8 cards (4 designs/2 each) AND a 3-D item. The February class is Saturday, February 20th, 9a-12p. Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 17th, so everything can be precut and ready for you! Want a little sneak peek?
February 20
Coffee and Cards

Now, I know, I know.... There is that state up north. And I have a friend who is a fan of that state and school, so for those who wear that school's colors on February 20th, for you and you alone - I will make an alternate color card for you, but NOT blue and yellow together. Just sayin'! Let me know when you RSVP!

Oh - and the best part - well, maybe not the best part, but a good deal - when you attend the class that day, you will also receive $5 off your order placed during the class!

AND

the second monthly class will be offered on the FIRST Saturday of each month, from 9a-12p. Each month will have a different stamp set or product showcased, so the cost will vary. You will bring your favorite adhesives and scissors. It will be a...

Monthly Themed Card Class
The February class is the Cuppa Class (LOVE IT!). But the MARCH class? Drumroll please....

Everything's Coming Up Roses
which will showcase the Rose Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. You will also receive a half package of the English Garden Designer Series Paper (one sheet of each design) with your class fee. Did you notice the really pretty rose as one of the designs on the papers? The cost will remain the same as the February class at $60. With the card class, your value is OVER $80! Because the items need to be ordered in advance, the RSVP for the Everything's Coming Up Roses class is Saturday, February 20th (your payment is your RSVP). You will make 4 cards and a 3-D item, receive a FREE Sale-a-Bration item, and leave with your stamp set, matching thinlit dies, AND Designer Series Paper! Not too shabby for 3 hours of crafting, huh?

Remember to check the Classes schedule on my blog HERE or on my Stampin' Up! website HERE.

Card Making - LOVE IT!

So... how many have a dedicated space to crafting? For those who have been to my home, you know I do. I'm VERY fortunate that I have a craft room now. 5 years ago - nope! Used the kitchen table. And then had to clean up if my family wanted to, you know, eat, do homework, that type of thing. Can I get an AMEN?!

Well, I'm taking an online crafting class this weekend - LOVE IT! - and while working on it and listening to the GREAT speakers, I had an idea. So I pulled out some of my supplies.

And, yeah, I'm using the table again! hahahah! Better lighting, yeah.... that's what I'm telling myself.

Does anyone else spread out all of his or her supplies like I do? Check it out!

Normally, I don't have hubby's 'puter there, but since I HAVE to listen to the speakers... And since my "What I Love" Sale-a-Bration stamp arrived just yesterday, I am having SO. MUCH. FUN.

And my family? Yeah, they are watching Galaxy Quest. Gonna miss Alan Rickman. Many may know and love him (as I do!) as Professor Severus Snape, but he will always be Hans Gruber to me. (I just looked that up. Die Hard was in 1988? Seriously? That movie is almost 30 years old?!?! How did that happen?)

But I digress. After I get my designs all done - and I'm gonna show this idea at my workshop on February 6th - I'll clean up the crafting before dinner. Unless I can talk hubby into taking me out. I just got an email coupon to Bob Evans! Any dinner I don't have to make is a good one!

Oh well, I must go crafting now so I feel much younger than I actually am. Hope you are having a GREAT day crafting as well!

Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack - Stampin' Up!

WOW!

Have you had a chance yet to look through the Occasions Catalog?
Occasions Catalog 2016

Again, WOW!!!! I wish I could just say "I'd like one of each please!" Anyone else ever feel that way? No? I'm alone on this one, huh?  :)

Well, my goodies arrived last week and I have been having so much fun playing with those new items. As you know, I'm offering the Cuppa Class on February 6th - you will ABSOLUTELY LOVE this one. And so easy. The stamps match the framelits and there is a matching Designer Series Paper Stack with it too. Oh and did I mention the ribbon and the embellishments too? WOW! Anyway, since I now have all my designs ready to go and am just waiting on one roll of ribbon...

Oh wait!

I'm digressing, yet again!

I wanted to talk with you about the new Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack. LOVE - LOVE - LOVE this paper! This is one of those that can stand completely on its own! Although it does have a very nice coordinating stamp set, Going Global. When I saw it in the catalog, I just KNEW this would make some NICE cards, both masculine as well as feminine!

So, I was looking through my Stampin' Success. This is the magazine that Stampin' Up! gives to its demonstrators so we know a little bit about what is going on. They have some really cute samples inside, along with directions. And you know me - I LOVE to combine ideas!

Stampin' Up! had this really cute framed piece on the cover of the Stampin' Success Special Edition 2015. So, I set to work. This is what I started with for the pieces and parts:
Doesn't look like much, does it?

Wait for the magic to happen!

Here is the final project:

Don't you just LOVE it? This card took more time to DIE CUT than it did to assemble! That's the kind of QUICK and EASY card I like, how about you?

You will notice there is absolutely NO STAMPING on this one! My Big Shot was doing double duty though with the embossing AND the diecuts! And do you notice the ribbon pieces? Stampin' Up! listed linen thread for those little loopies behind the DSP. But I have a whole roll of Burlap Ribbon that is just burning a hole in my pocket! So I cut an 8" piece and then pulled the longer pieces out of it. Cut them and made 'em into those little loopies. E - Z, I am telling you!

The butterflies are diecuts from the Butterflies Thinlits AND the Bold Butterfly Framelits. And each butterfly used a different printed paper from the DSP. So you are viewing 4 of the 12 printed designs. I think my favorite is the strip piece. The one with the black background and vanilla writing. I would purchase a WHOLE BOOK of just that one print!

Did you notice the little "body" for the butterfly? That's the SHORT pieces of the Burlap Ribbon! I tied them together and made the ends into the antennae for my friend Mr. Butterfly.

The only time I pulled out the Sahara Sand Classic Ink on this card was to use my sponge dauber after I used my Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Just a little here and there to add some dimension to the card.

And Mr. Brown (aka UPS) is delivering a package this week. WAIT until see you what I'm going to do with my new Flowering Fields Stamp Set - FREE during Sale-a-Bration! And I'm using my Butterfly diecuts again too. Don't you just LOVE when you can really get a LOT of ideas out of a product?!

Let me know if YOU want to make this card at YOUR workshop. I'm scheduling for February now!

Cuppa Class - LOVE IT!

Want a little sneak peek of the February 6th Cuppa Class?

Do ya?

Huh? Huh?

:)

Ok... since you twisted my arm.

Alright, I've kept you in suspense long enough. Here ya go!

Remember, you will be making five (5) cards and a 3-D item. Well, here are five cards and a 3-D item. But you notice the one card in the center on the bottom? Hmmmm.. that doesn't look like it came from A Nice Cuppa stamp set. So, that means there is still one surprise card to make.
Cuppa Class

RSVP HERE

And the 3-D item? The one on the top center? Hmmm... How about that is actually MY gift to YOU for attending the class!!! That means there is yet ANOTHER surprise item on the day of the class. One you will LOVE!

I had the best time designing the cards. You may recognize that extra card that you will be making. It's from the July 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit (which is still available!) - one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES! Because it's coffee related, I wanted you to make one as well. Just in case you haven't tried any of the Paper Pumpkin kits yet. SO EASY!

The deadline to RSVP is Friday, January 22nd. You can read more about the details on the CLASSES link.

Look forward to seeing you on Saturday, February 6th!

A Nice Cuppa - AND...

Check this out!

What do you think?

SO. STINKIN. CUTE.

Remember my post from the other day, the one about the bicycle magnets that I made for hubby? (You can read about it and see the magnets HERE.)

Well, THIS was the idea I came up with when I was making those bicycles! The printed paper is from the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack, the "World's best" stamp is from A Nice Cuppa stamp set, and the diecuts are from the Cups and Kettle Framelits Dies (the "you" die is from the Hello You Thinlits). LOVE THIS! And it was really, REALLY easy to make these! I did add a little bit of Venetian Crochet Trim Ribbon to the cups.

See? Hubby likes bicycles and I like coffee. It's a marriage made in heaven, huh?

This is just one of the things you will be making with the Cuppa Class on February 6th. There is one week left for the RSVPs. AND, if you are unable to attend, don't forget that you can also order the Card Class KIT. You will have the pieces and parts to do the projects, just add your own ink and Big Shot! Since you order the entire kit from me, you will have the supplies so you can make even more! All supplies provided are listed on the Classes Page.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Look forward to seeing you soon!

Bicycles... And a Nice Cuppa?

Ok, many of you know my husband is an AVID cyclist. He enjoys it so much, he actually has a TEAM of trainers AND he also likes to TEACH a Y-Cycling Class at the YMCA. I've taken it before, but I just cycle. I certainly cannot "hang with the big dawgs!"  :)

But I digress. This year, as they have done in several years past, they are having this "Big Ride." It is in March. The way I understand it, they get credit (points, something...) for each class they attend. And to keep track of it, they have this board thing to show everyone how many classes they have taken.

A few years ago, I had an old machine and the bicycle cutout that went with it. I had made some bicycles with magnets and they used those to show each person's progress. Well, that was SEVERAL years ago (like 5+!) and while they have used and reused them, they were showing signs of wear.

What to do? What to do? Especially since I pretty much have SU thinlits now! Well, I found a bicycle thinlit at a local big box store and using some old contraband scrap papers, check out what I made!
You may need to click the photo to enlarge it. The small white piece is for the cyclist's name. Each person gets to choose his or her own bicycle to show his or her progress! Pretty neat huh? Each is a magnet.

Check out how I'm sending him into the YMCA with them!
Always hang onto those takeout containers, huh? Anyone else LOVE GenjiGo? Should make it nice and easy for him, especially with the Ohio weather!

Well, that got me to thinking. Anyone who has ever met me or followed me for more than a week or two, KNOWS how much I LOVE my coffee! There is a new stamp set, a new framelits dies set, and a new Designer Series Paper Stack in the new Occasions Catalog. Mine should be arriving on Tuesday. CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!!!!!!

So, I'm going to do something with my A Nice Cuppa stamp set:

my Cups and Kettle Framelits Dies:

and my new Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack:
Make sure you check back on Saturday, January 16th to see what I have up my sleeve. I think you will like it "a latte."

AND my February card class will be based on these products. You can read about it by clicking on the Classes tab at the top or click HERE to go directly to the classes schedule. The class will be offered on Saturday, February 6th, 2016.

Card Class Last Week was a BLAST!

We had SO. MUCH. FUN!

On January 1st, I had posted this photo on my Facebook page with the dog in the corner.
He's so excited when everyone comes over to see him (shhh... don't tell him otherwise!), so he was "resting up" for everyone.  :)

It was so nice to have my mom here and my aunts were able to attend as well. Grandma's coffee cake was a hit and everyone enjoyed the cards! We used all retired Designer Series Papers and everyone's was a bit different. Different colors, different shapes, different but the same. It was really nice!

Here are my cards that were displayed. Several used the same designs, others changed them.

Here are my Aunt Vickie's:
On Vickie's, can see that she used BOTH sides of her DSPs! I really like the way she did the stripes for the masculine cards. Those are always the hardest for me.

And my friend Kathy's (she takes hers home and modifies the card design - such a GREAT idea!). She chose to change the designs on a couple of them.

Of course, we had so much fun, I forgot to take photos of everyone else's - INCLUDING MY MOM'S! Ugh!

But, did you notice in all the card photos? We used the retired and currently on CLEARANCE RACK the Party Pennants Bigz L Die. This was one of my all-time favorite dies! It is the older style "BIG" die (just use the two clear plates with the Big Shot), but you can do so much with this die. And it is SO GREAT that it is now under $20 (I paid the original $32.95). You can make banners out of it, use it for large designs like we did, even make some really nice tags with it! And unlike the thinlits (which I LOVE!), you can actually do two and sometimes THREE layers to cut out. Makes the diecutting go so much faster!

With Sale-a-Bration going on, this is a GREAT time to place your orders. Don't forget to check the Weekly Deals (they change on Tuesdays) and the Clearance Rack. You never know what you are going to find!

Check back tomorrow to see what I did for my husband's bicycle group ride... See you Sunday!
