January is Right Around the Corner!

It's December 31st and 2013 is tomorrow! The Spring Catalog begins on January 3rd, followed closely by Sale-a-Bration on January 22nd. And, as you know, I've been playing with my new toys! (Shhh... don't tell anyone - but I'm having such fun with them too!)

Well, with January 1st being tomorrow, I thought I'd redo my Blog Header. AND I used TWO of my new cards in it too!
My New Blog Header for January - LOVE IT!

These cards combine the old with the new, nothing was borrowed, and there is something blue. I'll see if I can grab a sixpence for my shoe, too... Am I showing my age by quoting that? These cards use new Spring Catalog products, there's even a Sale-a-Bration stamp used on the blue card, and I just LOVE the flower trim ribbon - just cut one of the posies and it really sets that card. Hope you enjoy the cards!

Can I just tell you how much I enjoy my My Digital Studio 2 also?! Do you recognize the "Enjoy" saying just to the left of "January" - no? You got it! It's part of the 2013 Quotable Calendar Template - a GREAT MDS Download.

So, because I was so excited about the new blog header, I changed it today! That will allow me to sleep in on the 1st, huh? Enjoy your New Year's Eve and let's make 2013 a WONDERFUL year!

Oh, Hello

Yes... Oh, Hello... But that isn't just a greeting - it's the name of a new stamp set that is available beginning January 3rd with the Spring Catalog!
Oh, Hello card
Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive

LOVE IT!

Do you recognize the small "Hello" stamp? NOPE? Well... you got it! Another new item! It's called Pretty Petites and it has a matching punch called Petite Curly Label Punch! Both are available as Sale-a-Bration items AND the punch will be available AFTER Sale-a-Bration too!

And the ribbon? You got it - The Old Olive 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon is a new ribbon in the Spring Catalog! And it will be available in Marina Mist and Melon Mambo too!

Remember, the new Spring Catalog will be effective January 3rd. Let me know if you need one! OH - and don't forget to ask for the Sale-a-Bration brochure either!

While I Was Playing Today...

Because my NEW stuff is due to arrive any day now, I have been trying to straighten my Craft Room. Anyone else ever try to do that? Sometimes I feel like I'm putting a square peg into a round hole and I also realize how much STUFF I really do have! YIKES!!!!

Well, I keep my retired items separate (but still close by) from my current products. You see, I still make lots of cards; I still am involved in the Card Ministry at my church; and I still sell cards. So I use my retired items - well, those items I don't sell, of course!

All kinds of ideas have been going through my head with the new card class in January. You know the one - it's using a new Simply Scrappin' Kit called Flower Fair. It's beautiful! Uses spring-time-y colors, a ribbon that is exclusive to that kit and well... it is just perfect! It's also 8 x 8 size to fit with a matching scrapbook, if you want to go that route too!

Well, while I was moving things around to make room for my new stuff, I ran across my old Kiwi Kiss textured cardstock and then I saw my retired Bella Rose Designer Series Paper (which is still available as the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper Digital Download - click HERE to see the WOW! designs in that DSP Package... WELL, guess what I came up with?

This is just the card box.

And I made 12 cards!
First Six Cards

Second Six Cards

For the 12 cards I used the equivalent of half of a Simply Scrappin' Kit (like the new Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit we will be using on January 26th!). EXCEPT I added 2 sheets of Whisper White cardstock and some scraps. You see, the Simply Scrappin' Kit comes with stickers that make card designs just so easy! Yeah... well... I didn't have those, so I used stamps, and punches, and markers, OH MY! Added a little bit of bling (rhinestones and pearls) and made them ALL Birthday cards!

Did you notice that I used Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Chocolate Chip Cardstocks, in addition to the retired Kiwi Kiss Cardstock? YUP! The Flower Fair SSK also comes with FOUR different colored cardstock. We'll be adding some neutrals to go with those colors at the class too!

Want to see what I do with the Flower Fair Simply Scrappin' Kit? Sign up for my card class scheduled for Saturday, January 26th and YOU can make the cards too! You'll also receive a couple of embellishments with YOUR card kit for the class. Look forward to seeing you here!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you!

And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God,
and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
- Luke 2:10-14 (KJV)

I hope you enjoy your family and friends this Holiday Season.
We are so blessed to have wonderful people in our lives.
Thank you for being part of mine.

First Card Class in 2013 is Scheduled!

Crafters -

Can you believe Christmas is in TWO DAYS?!?!??! TWO DAYS!!!!! YEAH!!!!

However you want to look at it, two more sleeps, two more nite-nites, two more morning coffees - and it will be here! Again, YEAH!!!

AND I have officially scheduled my first card class for 2013! You can go to the "Classes" page on this blog for the basics or click "here" for the link. AND you can now pay by PayPal! If you don't have a PayPal account, the link also allows you to pay as a PayPal guest using your debit or credit card. No more worrying about running it over here last minute to drop off the check or cash!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

And another New Card!

Those of you who know me, know how much I love my coffee. I jokingly say that if I could take it intravenously I would! Not really, but you get the idea. I also HALF jokingly, but more seriously, say that when I retire (in about two years), that I will work at my local coffee establishment - you know the one. They have those really nice RED Christmas cups this time of year! Well, I'll work there AND be able to devote more time to my STAMPING!

Anyway, and bear with me while I get there... Today after hitting the grocery store this morning at 8AM! I stopped at the BUX right in front of the grocery store to get my coffee. LOVE IT! Well, while it was being made, I was talking with the young lady at the window. She saw my car magnet that I have on my car and we began talking about cardmaking. She said that SHE was making her Christmas cards this year and was using construction paper. HOW GREAT IS THAT?! See, I knew I liked that coffee place!

Well, because my mind was on coffee and getting home to get ready for church this morning, I thought - hey wait! I should give her one of my business cards so that she can look here on my blog and get some card ideas. SO, without further ado... here is a beautiful card that I made last weekend and it uses some of the NEW stuff too!
Secret Garden meets Vintage Verses

Hope you enjoy this easy and FAST card - especially with the matching framelits! Makes it SO easy to stamp and then cut out the flowers AND the leaves. Did you notice the rhinestone in the center of the flower? No? Look through YOUR Spring catalog - you'll see it there! Don't have a Spring Catalog or a Sale-a-Bration brochure? CONTACT ME and I'll get one to you!

Another New Card...

Crafters -

Here's another new card - using a new stamp set (Secret Garden) and its MATCHING FRAMELITS DIES!!!! And if you can believe it - Santa Stampin'Up! even will be offering a Secret Garden BUNDLE at 15% savings! You can see all of this in the Spring Catalog. Don't have one yet? CONTACT ME and I'll get one in your hands! :)

So without further ado (drum roll please):
Secret Garden AND Bloomin' Marvelous

Don't recognize a couple of the other items? That's right! They are Sale-a-Bration items - and Sale-a-Bration begins in ONE MONTH!! The Sycamore Designer Series Paper and the Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set are BOTH Sale-a-Bration items! There are also Rich Razzleberry buttons in the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack (another Sale-a-Bration item!), which work PERFECTLY with the new large Rhinestones in the Spring catty. When mine arrive, I think I'll be adding those to this card too! Cannot wait to get them!

As you know, I just LOVE my Two Tags Die - I use it all the time! But the other items that are used on this card - the items that are available NOW are:
Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, Item #126950
Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, Item #115316
Old Olive Card Stock, Item #100702
Whisper White Cardstock, Item #100730
1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Item #119854
1-3/8" Circle Punch, Item #119860
Large Oval Punch, Item #119855
Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Item #119275
Two Tags Die, Item #115954
Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Item #109070
Stampin' Dimensionals, Item #104430

SIDE NOTE: We just made 400 bookmarks for our church Card Ministry a few weeks using the Two Tags Die... Faye, Bev and Marc, Tom and Diane, and me! Talk about assembly line! This die is SO versatile - you can use it for just about anything! It took me about 30-45 minutes to cut and diecut the bookmarks, and between all of us at the Card Ministry - we were DONE in about 2 hours! SO STINKIN' EASY and such a nice gift to give!

Flowering Flourishes and Feel Goods Stamp Sets

Crafters -

I have been playing with my new toys, I mean my new supplies out of the Spring Catalog. Have you received your new Spring Catalog AND the Sale-a-Bration brochure yet? If not, and you don't have a demonstrator, give me a call - I've LOVE to place one of these babies in your hands!  :)

But seriously, several wonderful things occurred at the end of November with my Stampin'Up! business - and I earned SEVERAL free stamp sets (if you are interested in free stamps, contact me to book a workshop or to join my team)! So, because I'm a demonstrator, Stampin'Up! allows us to preorder the items so we can prepare for workshops and classes. Well, have I been playing!

One of the sets that I have been wanting for a while was the Flowering Flourishes stamp set, so it was one of the FIRST ones I choose! AND another set is a NEW set in the Spring Catalog. Now I cannot show you a picture of the stamp set, but I can show you stamped images that I have done with it. SO this is the stamp that I used on my card and it looks like this if you stamp it right out of the box, so to speak!
Using Bravo Burgundy, River Rock, and Baja Breeze markers RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!

GREAT saying, huh? Wait until you see the others!

Well, I mixed this set with my new Flowering Flourishes set and because it is winter now (we are anticipating snow tomorrow here in Ohio!), I wanted to use Bravo Burgundy. I went to my Color Coach and some of the other colors that coordinate with Bravo Burgundy are River Rock and Baja Breeze. And because this is a flower, I needed a green color. Always Artichoke goes PERFECTLY with Bravo Burgundy! Gotta love that Stampin'Up! makes choosing colors REALLY easy for folks like me! (HUGE GRIN!)  FYI - Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke are part of the Regals Markers; River Rock is part of the Neutrals Markers; and Baja Breeze is part of the Subtles Markers. Currently, you can purchase a River Rock marker on the Clearance Rack. Of course, you can also get the entire set of Many Marvelous Markers and have ALL of them at your fingertips!

And I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig and played around with the placement of the Feel Goods wording. What do you think?
Flowering Flourishes meets Feel Goods

And because sunshine should be pretty and sparkly and just bring a smile to your face, and with today being so gray and overcast here, I added a little Dazzling Details to perk up this card. So here's a close-up for the word "Sunshine" - doesn't it just dazzle?!
Add a little Dazzling Details and it just sparkles!

LOVE IT!

All images stamped on Naturals White Cardstock. One of my absolute favorites!

Remember the Spring Catalog begins on January 3rd, with the Sale-a-Bration brochure beginning on January 22nd. I think January is just going to be a FABULOUS month, what about you? Contact me to book your workshop now!

Card Class Will be Rescheduled...

Crafters -

When did life get so busy? It looks like everyone is busy on the dates I had listed, so for now the card classes will be cancelled. Perhaps after the first of the year?
Card Class cancelled for December 21st, 22nd, and 29th...
Hopefully we can get together in January?
When you place your online order of $75 or more through Saturday, December 15th, you get a FREE card class at my home! Your choice of dates are Friday, December 21st, from 1pm-2pm OR Saturday, December 22nd from 9am-10am, OR Saturday, December 29th, from 9am-10am OR 1pm-2pm. A New Card!

Crafters -

As you know, I was able to attend a fellow demonstrator's card class on Saturday. WOW! We made 20 cards AND had a light lunch - all within 4 hours! There must have been, at least, 50 people there.

We played with some of the NEW stuff that will be available in January. Here is one of the cards we made - PERFECT for Scarlet-and-Gray, don't you think? If you don't recognize an item, it's probably one of the new things in January! Your Spring catalogs and Sale-a-Bration brochures should be arriving any day now, if you are one of my customers. Check through the pages and tell me what new items you see!
I think this is pretty close to scarlet-and-gray
What do you think?
:)
If you would be interested in doing something like this - having a card party with some of the GREAT new items, give me a call! Sale-a-bration is right around the corner and the benefits are FABULOUS! It's also a WONDERFUL time to join the Stampin'Up! family!

If you already have a demonstrator, make sure you talk with them about getting a catalog! If you do not have a demo, I'd LOVE to be your demo!

Ink-redible... Final days... :)

Crafters -

I'm at a class on Saturday to make cards for the upcoming catty! BUT since I won't be answering emails throughout the day, wanted to jot a friendly reminder...

1) The Clearance Rack Blitz - I placed an order Friday morning, literally hours after the items were added. Got shut out on one of my markers. AND it looks like several of the others are now no longer available. And did you notice that they have STAMP SETS on there? YES-SIR-EE! If you are interested in any of the items, don't delay! (FYI - because I have had a couple of questions on this, the stamp pads on the Clearance Rack are the OLD style - the felt ones, not the new foam ones.)

2) Sunday is the last day for the Ink-redible promotion. You can get an entire color family of the NEW foam stamp pads by either hostessing a $450 workshop OR by joining Stampin'Up! If you are interested in either, I'd love to be your demo OR your upline! Our team meetings are a LOT of fun - matter of fact - invited my team on Sunday to look over the great cards that I'll have made on Saturday at that class! Click here to start YOUR paperwork to join my team! Sign up by Saturday, December 15th at midnight, and YOU are invited for Sunday, December 16th too!

and finally,
3) When you place your online order of $75 or more through Saturday, December 15th, you get a FREE card class at my home! Your choice of dates are Friday, December 21st, from 1pm-2pm OR Saturday, December 22nd from 9am-10am, OR Saturday, December 29th, from 9am-10am OR 1pm-2pm. I have also received my Spring Catalogs AND Sale-a-Bration brochures. They are all ready for you! UPDATE: When did life get so busy? It looks like everyone is busy on the dates I had listed, so for now the card classes will be cancelled. Perhaps after the first of the year?

Look forward to seeing you soon!

Clearance Rack has been UPDATED!!!

**UPDATE: As of right now, Stampin'Up! has the Clearance Rack in two different places. One is listed as "All Clearance Items" and one is listed as "New Clearance Items." The new clearance items are not yet listed in the the ALL category. Make sure you check both places!

Clearance Rack Blitz
New Clearance Items Added!

WOW!  This will be short and sweet since I just got up and checked the Stampin'Up! demo side of the site.

Stampin'Up! has added about 300 additional items to the clearance rack. You can only order clearance rack items online. You cannot order them through a demonstrator.

If you would like to order any of the items through me, here is the link to my online store that takes you directly to the clearance rack. Click here on Clearance Rack here or there is a link on the right-side of this blog.

I haven't made my way through the entire list, but they have the black handled crop-a-dile (LOVE IT!), several punches, lots of paper, and even some old kits. I think I'm going to get a couple of the kits and offer a class in January.

There are some cardstocks, Designer Series Papers, AND they have several CURRENT markers for 99 cents!

AND DON'T FORGET - if you place a $75 online purchase before December 15th, you also can attend my special card class this month! That blog posting is here, at the end of the posting, if you are interested (or cut and paste): http://stampingwithdawn.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-seasonal-catalogs-and-special-card.html

Happy Holidays from Stampin' Up!

Can I just say how happy I am to work for such a wonderful company?

Don't they look like they are having a BLAST?

Merry Christmas!

It'll be here before we know it!

Joyous Celebrations Card

Crafters -

As many of you know, I rejoined Stampin'Up! earlier this year. And has this go-round been a LOT of fun!

I have a fabulous set of ladies who are part of my downline and you have seen several of their talents recently. Well, my newest crafter - Gabby - has sent me a picture of one of her cards! Don't you just LOVE it?
Joyous Celebrations
made by Gabby Butterbaugh

Gabby had a workshop a few months ago and had a wonderful group of ladies. I just LOVE her table that we used. It must seat something like 50 people! I may be exaggerating slightly, but it really does seat a LOT of people - and it was the best time! You could spread out all of your crafting supplies and just create to your heart's content.

After her workshop, she decided to join my team. She was able to take advantage of the Ink-redible promotion that ends this week - and really add to her starter kit by choosing one color family of Stampin'Up!'s NEW Classic stampin' pads! What a GREAT way to start her business!

AND, she let me in on a little crafting secret on this card. Click on the card. Do you notice the glitter? Well, it isn't Dazzling Diamonds, but it is the wonderful Dazzling Details. Notice how she placed the Dazzling Details on just the scrolls? YUP! WAY easier to control! And adds just enough dazzle to set this card.

Hope you enjoy Gabby's card! Thanks Gabby for sharing YOUR gifts and talents!

The Seasonal Catalogs and a SPECIAL Card Class

Crafters -

Make sure you read to the bottom of this post for a special offer!

**UPDATED: The card classes have been cancelled for now and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Gotta tell you about one of the BEST benefits of being a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator. BUT FIRST...

Is anyone else as impatient as I am? I'm not one of those I-love-surprises-type of people. I like knowing what is going to happen and if they ever made a "Life-at-a-Glance" calendar, I'd own one! You know the type of people like me.

Anyway, on December 1st, as a demonstrator, I was able to preorder out of the Spring catalog (effective January 3rd) AND, as an added benefit, I was also able to receive some of the Sale-a-Bration items from the Sale-a-Bration catalog (effective January 22nd). But trying to be good, and because I had earned some free stamp sets AND a product bonus, I really poured over the catalogs. Isn't Stampin'Up! just the BEST company to work for?!

OH - do you have your Spring and Sale-a-Bration catalogs yet? My customers have been sent theirs and they should receive them around the middle of the month. If you would like one, let me know and I'll get one out to you too!

SO, guess what I ordered? Now, I cannot show you pictures yet, but... there are new embossing folders, beautiful new papers, some great stamp sets, did I mention the new framelits?, and wait until you see some of the ribbons, and buttons, and trinkets, and punches, and all the wonderful items! I'm betting the pictures just don't do them justice.

Well, last night and today as I was revising my list for about the 80th time, I finally chose my stamp sets, one set of framelits, one embossing folder, and a really cool new tool. The tool is something similar to an older item that they retired a few years ago - which I LOVED and used all the time. I can't wait to receive the items AND make things with them. I just love when Mr. Brown (aka UPS) shows up with my packages!

And because I know you are just going to fall in love with all those new items too, I wanted to remind you that you can still order out of the Holiday catalog. AND to sweeten the deal...

FOR ONLINE ORDERS (of $75 merchandise or more) PLACED BETWEEN DECEMBER 8TH AND DECEMBER 15TH, you are invited to attend a FREE card class at my home. You will make three cards and get to see the really cool items I will be making between now and then. Don't forget to look over the Clearance Rack too. And because the holidays are always busy, I'm going to offer a several dates for you to attend the FREE Card Class:
  • Friday, December 21st, from 1p-2p
  • Saturday, December 22nd from 9a-10a
  • Saturday, December 29th from 9a-10a OR 1p-2p
UPDATE: When did life get so busy? It looks like everyone is busy on the dates I had listed, so for now the card classes will be cancelled. Perhaps after the first of the year?
After you place your order, send me an email and let me know which date you'd prefer. If you do not have one of the catalogs, you can pick those up at the class too! Hope to see you here!

Christmas Blessings Card

Crafters -

You hear so many times... "no need to reinvent the wheel..."  Yeah. But we do it over and over and over again, huh?

Well I decided that I was going to NOT reinvent the wheel just one time. Usually I marry three or four (and sometimes MORE) ideas into one card. Any Toy Story/Buzz Lightyear fans out there? All I can say is "NOT TODAY ZURG!"  :)

So, I went to the StampingAndBlogging.com blog. Using the Saturday Sketch Challenge #8 sketch here, I came up with this:
Christmas Blessings

I do have to tell you - WAY prettier IRL (in real life)! The white shadow behind the ornament punch - just looks so nice on the card. Where did I get the idea, you may ask? Well, look at my blog header! Notice the shadow behind the ornaments on my blog header? You got it!

And did you notice the berries on this poinsettia? YUP! It is the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details - LOVE them!

Using markers, you can spotlight just one part of an image. That's exactly what I did on the poinsettia from the Christmas Blessings stamp set. I did the mistletoe image first - didn't really like that one as well. It was still nice, just thought the poinsettia image was a little bit better fit for the ornament punch!

Hope you enjoy!
