Fancy Friends Kit Video

Did you know that you could order a kit that includes almost everything you need to make cards? YUP! It's called the Fancy Friends Kit and it is available here. You would need your adhesive. They recommend the Mini Glue Dots, but you could use your Snail, Stampin' Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen, Anywhere Glue Sticks, whatever your favorite adhesive!

This is what it looks like. You can see that it comes with the note cards and envelopes, an image stamp, a word stamp (says "friends"), rhinestones, flower pieces already punched out (the little yellow and green in the top left), AND comes with TWO Stampin'Spots. A self-contained kit! All ready to go!

My New Blog Header!

Crafters -

My goal this past weekend was to update my blog header. I played around a little with My Digital Studio. In case you forgot, it is available for HALF OFF but only until Wednesday, November 28th. That is good for the MDS2 Upgrade, MDS2, and MDS2+ - YOUR CHOICE!

Well, you may have noticed that I updated the header to a fall theme. I used a card I completed at my Everything Eleanor class from September and made it into a hybrid for the blog header. Here's what that looked like:
b
The original card from my September Everything Eleanor Class
This picture does not do the card justice WAY prettier in person,
although I think it does look nice here too!

Updated the card with MDS2 and made it into my Blog header
You notice how I changed the "Happy Thanksgiving" in the top left corner?
Pretty cool huh? :)

AND, I had downloaded the Be of Good Cheer Kit-Digital Download - a STEAL at $7.95 and came up with my NEW blog header. LOVE IT! Well... I actually added a few other embellishments too! AND if you aren't yet into the full-digital mode, the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper is also on sale through the Online Extravaganza until Wednesday, November 28th! I think I'm on my third package of that paper and I haven't even made it to Christmas yet!
My December Blog Header using My Digital Studio

It was actually quite easy, once I got the hang of things! The learning curve is there - but once you get to know the dance steps, the dancing is easy!

Feel free to leave me a comment. Hope you like it!

Jeannette's Simply Sent eCard

Crafters -

WOW! I may have done that little video to show how to use Stampin'Up!'s Simply Sent app - but WOW! I haven't played with all of the features, I'm still playin' with it, but ...

Well, look what little Miss Jeannette sent to me today!
Jeannette's Simply Sent eCard

Can I just say WOW one more time? - WOW! She added a picture. She added text, TWO different ribbons, buttons, speech bubble! And she was just playing! Imagine what she can do when she's actually working it!  :)

What a GREAT way to invite some friends ELECTRONICALLY to make cards at your home!

How GREAT is this?! I'm gonna have to take lessons from her!

Simply Sent App - Thank You! and a Reminder

Crafters -

First off - WOW! Your personal emails, and some texts, have been GREAT! Thank you for the encouragement with the FIRST video that was so pixelated.

Now that I (somewhat) know what I'm doing AND have the right thing to upload my video from the camera, I anticipate doing a few MORE of these videos. YEAH!!!! Hope you enjoy them.

Second, please get the word out on this wonderful Simply Sent app. It seemed to me that many of the questions were "how do I find it?" SO, although no video, here's how you find it:

USING YOUR IPHONE OR IPAD:
  • On the device you want to use the app on, touch the "App Store" icon
  • In the search box, type "Simply Sent" - no quotes, just the words Simply sent. And yes, you will need to put a space between the two words
You should see something that looks similar to this:

There will be a button to press for you to view it or download it or something along those lines.

Press the button to download the app to your device. This takes a minute or so. An icon will show up on your screen.

To get into the app, you touch the Simply Sent icon which looks like this:
Simply Sent icon
Make the digital card front and then email it to your friends, families or whomever! You can watch my video to see how to move things around and play a bit with it (click the words "my video" and you will be taken to YouTube to watch the video). Hope that helps!

Third, if this has helped you, please leave me a comment. Better yet, send me an email if you'd like to see something specific. I'm working on my stamping video library and I'd LOVE to do a video that YOU have requested!

Fourth, and finally - and here's where I just couldn't be happier. A friend of mine sent me an email. She said that she had tried to play with the Simply Sent app (she just got her iPhone), but ... Well, after she watched my video, THIS is what she sent:
No - Thank YOU!  :)

LOVE IT! Did you notice that she added TWO buttons in two different colors and she added the text. WAY TO GO!

- - - - - REMINDER - - - - -
Don't forget that Monday is the deadline to register for my final two final classes of 2012. The card class will again showcase the 2013 format. The cost is $35 for the Sewing Giftables class, $25 for the Cards Giftables Class. If you schedule BOTH classes, the cost is $50 - a savings of $10 and you walk out of here with FOUR sets of cards and FIVE sewing projects! Here's the link for the pictures. Hope to see you here!

December 1st Card Class

Crafters -

Wasn't Saturday beautiful? We had such nice weather in Central Ohio that we were able to mow the yard one last time! Didn't get the leaves raked, but...

That put me a little behind. So, without any further ado, here are the cards that you will be making at the Giftables class on Saturday, December 1st from 1p-5p.
December 1 Giftables Card Class

Aren't they such nice cards? I think so! You will notice on the Crosses of Hope card, that the sample is Gumball Green but right behind it you will also see Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse. YUP! You will make ONE of EACH of those three. That way, you have three cards that are essentially the same, but look different. We do this at our card ministry. It is WONDERFUL to see the rainbow of colors when all the cards are lined up!

DID YOU NOTICE? Compare the stamp sets that are used with the Online Extravaganza stamp sets... YUP! You should see a few that will be on sale beginning Monday, November 19th. Each of the cards also uses something that requires my Big Shot. Which is a one-day ONLY sale special on Monday, November 19th. Neat how all that worked out, huh? You can save money AND have several ideas!

Here's the information on the card class:
  • You will make 12 cards (3 of each of the 4 designs).
  • The Come to Bethlehem Christmas card has its own sentiment with the stamp set, but I will also be making More Merry Messages available too. And the card has a gift card holder on the inside of it. Both are on the Online Extravaganza list.
  • Fabulous Florets card will also use Teeny Tiny Wishes. You will have your choice of SO many different sayings!
  • Crosses of Hope card will also use the Blessings from Heaven set and the Trust God set. You can personalize the cards you will be gift giving this year!
  • Everything Eleanor card uses Perfectly Penned - check out the single stamps list for that one!
  • Cost is $25 for the 12 cards. This will use the same format, the new format for 2013, as we used at the November card class.
  • IF you attend both the sewing Giftables in the morning AND the Cards Giftables class in the afternoon, you can save $10. Please let me know which fabric for the morning (Vintage Springtime or Deck the Halls).
  • Card kits will be available, however in accordance with Stampin'Up! rules, no stamped images will be included.
  • This information will be included on the CLASSES section of my blog. Just click the tab that says "classes" and you will see all of this AND more!
Looking forward to seeing you here on December 1st!

Welcome Gabby!

Crafters -

Please join me in welcoming Gabby to my downline, the Latte Joy Stampers!

Gabby was previously one of my fabulous customers who helped me to promote to supervisor a couple of months ago. We had workshop at her home and let me tell you this. She has the absolutely BEST table for card parties and workshops. I LOVE her table! It must seat something like 24 (ok, I may be exaggerating a little bit... it probably only seats 20 comfortably...). We had so much space to work when making our cards! Can you tell I just LOVE her setup?

OH - and because Gabby joined now, she was able to receive a FREE set of stamp pads with the ink-redible promotion. PLUS, she can also look at all the GREAT sneak peeks as a demonstrator. As demonstrators, we are able to access the Spring and the Sale-a-Bration catalogs online NOW and we preorder on December 1st so we can play with the new products prepare for our upcoming workshops and classes. Just a FEW of the many benefits of becoming a demonstrator!

Welcome Gabby! Can't wait for you to meet the rest of my team!

Several NEW Items...

A New App from Stampin' Up!

It has been hard to keep this a secret-we're so excited about it! We have created a card-making application, and we already have a great name for it: Simply Sent! This iPhone app allows customers to create an e-card-from a template or completely on their own-and send it via e-mail or post it on Facebook. And it's free!

Here's something you should know about this app: it's not My Digital Studio on a mobile device, not even close. This scaled-back version will only give you a taste of what you can create when you purchase MDS

So go download it from iTunes or the App Store, share it with your friends, and post a review!

Try it out!

Sizzix Texture Boutique

Embossing Machine

Stampin'Up! has a wonderful partnership with Sizzix. Because of that partnership, they are able to offer a test run of the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine in our North American markets. These are only available while supplies last.

The Texture Boutique works with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to transform ordinary cardstock, paper, metallic foil, or vellum into an embossed, textured masterpiece. This machine embosses only; it does not die cut. Because this is a product test, the Texture Boutique is not branded with the Stampin' Up! logo. It comes in Sizzix packaging and is the same color and design that is sold in stores. Please read the included instructions before using the Texture Boutique.

'Tis the season of giving, and the Texture Boutique makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wants to create their own elegant embossed art. To help you with your gift-giving needs, we're offering a special value bundle that saves you $5.90. If you prefer, you can also purchase the Texture Boutique alone. Looking for stocking stuffers? Pick up some additional embossing folders.

Online Extravaganza Is Coming!

It will be Stampin'Up!'s biggest online sale of the year with discounts up to 50% and 24-hour only doorbusters. You won't want to miss it!

As soon as I find out more, I'll post the information. Make sure you subscribe to this blog so you receive the update.

Giftables Class - Check out THIS Special!

Crafters -

Remember me writing about my Gift-ables class scheduled for December 1st? Would you like to make a reversible rag-tag-bag, a gift bag that holds 10-14 cards comfortably, a jelly jar band/decoration, and a purse tissue holder? Did you notice that ALL are reusable? YUP! We are going GREEN!

Here are the details for Saturday, December 1st - the 8a-12p class involving YOUR sewing machine.

You will need to bring with you:
  • YOUR sewing machine - NOTE!!! I am NOT a seamstress. I have enough trouble with my sewing capabilities - so much so that you will not want my help! Please make sure you know how to operate your machine and that you have enough of your supplies to make it all work well!
  • Scissors, thread, bobbins (please bring two), sewing needle (like you would sew on a button), and IF YOU HAVE IT, a needle with a large eye. Think tapestry needle (hint - like you would need if you were using baker's twine to sew with).
  • NOTEBOOK AND PEN - you may just want to take a few notes in case you want to replicate these designs at YOUR home
  • Your favorite non-alcoholic beverage with a covered lid. We will also be taking a break mid-morning for a bacon, egg, and cheese casserole. YUMMY!

Here's the information about the class:
Deck the Halls fabric

Vintage Springtime fabric

  • This class will be offered Saturday morning, December 1st, from 8a-12p. We will use MOST if not ALL of the time slotted for this class. Please be on time and ready to go when you get here.
  • You have a choice of the Deck the Halls fabric or the Vintage Springtime fabric.
  • You will make FIVE projects that morning. Check out the pictures!
  • What? There are only FOUR projects in the picture?! Hmmm.... guess that means one will be a surprise (HINT - it is REALLY easy and makes a quick gift too!)
  • The cost will be $35 and your RSVP must be received by Monday, November 26th.
  • Class size will be limited to SIX (yes, only 6) participants. If there is enough interest, I will offer this class again on Saturday, December 8th, but the time will be 1p-5p instead.
  • Place a $50 order at this class and you can choose one of my retired sets ($10 or less).
  • SPECIAL FOR THIS CLASS ONLY: If you place an ONLINE ORDER between now and Monday, November 26th of $150 merchandise or more (hostess benefits apply), YOU CAN ATTEND THIS CLASS FREE! Non-transferable, non-refundable, non-negotiable!  :)
  • Unable to attend, but really want to? Because there is absolutely NO STAMPING involved - you can get the pieces and parts - a class kit! Let me know!
  • FYI - supplies are limited. List Deck the Halls or Vintage Springtime on your payment.

The afternoon card class information will be posted on Saturday late afternoon. Subscribe to my blog so you will be one of the first people to receive that information. There will be a special offer for that class AND yes, there will be a discount if you book both classes at the same time. We will be having something lunch-y in the afternoon!

Hope to see you here!

Can We Talk? AND a Special Offer...

Anyone remember Joan Rivers saying that - "Can We Talk?" Or am I dating myself here?  (smile)

Seriously... as a demonstrator, we get all kinds of perks. I'm not just sayin' that because I AM a demonstrator either!

As you've heard me state before, we (demos) get to preorder items so that we can play with our new toys prepare for our upcoming classes and workshops. Well, the Spring and Sale-a-Bration catalogs are no different!

Stampin'Up! allowed us to see these catalogs online TODAY! and I can preorder on December 1st. YUP! I'm going to be stalking "Mr. Brown" when he delivers my packages too! Now, we cannot show you the catalog pages, BUT we can show you items that we have made with OUR preorders! (Subscribe to my blog so you receive the updates when I post them.)

I've already sent my downline an email. I'm hoping we can get together mid-December so we can get our samples and ideas started for the first of the year. ESPECIALLY with Christmas coming and then Stampin'Up! Leadership in January (which is open to all demonstrators this year too!).

I have already ordered individual Spring Catalogs and Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Catalogs for my customers who have placed orders with me. They should be arriving December-ish to your home in the mail! I will also be ordering some to hand out. If you are interested in one, please let me know and I'll make sure one gets to you!

OH - and it is Stampin'Up!'s 25th year too - Their SILVER Anniversary... Now, I'm not going to get in trouble with the Stampin'Up! police, but I can tell you that there will be a little something extra in addition to the FREE $25 hostess dollars that you receive with a workshop of $150... Oh - and there is something extra when you have a $400 workshop during Sale-a-Bration too! AND start checking your calendars so we can book your workshop too! I'm guessing that the dates will get busy between January 22nd and March 22nd... Just sayin'!  :)

You'll see what these extras are when you receive your SAB catalog! SO CONTACT ME for yours!

********** SPECIAL OFFER **********
**NOTE: I'll also be adding a couple of pictures later this week. The GIFTABLES class that I am offering on December 1st is receiving a bit of attention from my customers - and that is a GREAT thing. I'm finishing up the projects so I can post them online. Check back on November 15th for a special offer for this class too!

There will be TWO classes on Saturday, December 1st:
  • morning (8a-12p) - You will need your sewing machine
  • afternoon (1p-5p)  - You will need your crafter's kit
If there is enough interest, I'll offer the classes on Saturday, December 8th - just reversed (crafter's kit in morning, sewing machine in afternoon). Check back on the 15th for the special offer...

Saturday's Card Class - WOW!

Crafters -

I don't know how the weather is in your neck of the woods, but the weather here in central Ohio is beautiful! And it was beautiful yesterday during the card class.

Because I'm changing how I do my card classes, I was very fortunate to have several friends attend yesterday's card class. The room set up was even different!
Card Class - November 10th

Incentive stamps were given for wearing something Christmas-y (LOVE the earrings and the socks ladies!). A GREAT time was had by all!
Jeannette showing just ONE of the pretty cards she made!

I wanted to give the ladies a little gift in their card bag, so I made some more of those gift tags. I changed stamp sets and designs of course.
Such an EASY gift tag set!

Well, Saturday morning, because my order came Friday evening!, I added the Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso Baker's Twine to the tags. Thankfully, my fabulous upline Sandi had sent me a NEW package of the white Baker's Twine, so I was good there! ANYWAY, the boy came into my craft room. He's my biggest helper. He helps me with cleaning and set-up of card classes, helps with vacuuming, setting up the tables, all of the things that get done before my crafting friends come over. Well, while I was tying the bows for one of the cards, he was cutting the Baker's Twine for me for those gift tags.

And, the best part of spending time with him while setting up? He talks! (Yes, I know those days are numbered, so I'm enjoying it while I can!). When I started putting the bows into the baggies, he glanced at the card. Now, he has seen this card several times before, but because he was in the crafting mood... he looks at the card and says "Mom. I think a candy cane would look really good on that card. And it should hang off of that too." He then continued with "and do you have anything to make it sparkly. Candy canes sparkle!"

LIGHTBULB!

Even though I already had 20 of those cards cut, bagged, ready to go - you got it! I grabbed my Shimmery Paper and cut pieces for the crafters to cut the ornament AND candy cane for each card. Here's the close-up of that card. The picture does not do it justice - BEAUTIFUL!
The boy's addition to this card - WONDERFUL!

And the final neat thing we had for the day - COOKIES! And I used my Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps - including Demonstrator ONLY ones!
Demonstrator ONLY Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps
They say I (heart) stamps and Stampin'Up!

Close up

Snowflakes! Part of the Holidays Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

They work (just not as well) on peanut butter AND snickerdoodle cookies, but they do work best on sugar cookies. A recipe even comes with the box!

And you will notice, I have added the link to the items in my online store, if you would like to see a close-up picture of the items I have listed!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! And the cookies are WONDERFUL!  :)

Card Class on Saturday!

Today is the last day to register and pay for Saturday's card class.
Card Class for Saturday, November 10th, 2012

If your check is in the mail, call/email me. If you cannot attend, there will be card kits available for purchase. You will need to stop over so that you can stamp the images. (I'm now allowed to sell the stamped images, per SU!'s rules.)

I'm also going to try out my new Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps for this class too.

AND as a demonstrator, there is even ANOTHER set that is available to me. Can't wait for you to see what cool cookie stamps are in that set!

Hope to see you here!

Looking for Some New Ideas?

Look no further!

Stampin'Up! sends us, and we can access it from the DEMONSTRATOR ONLY side of the Stampin'Up! website, this wonderful magazine called Stampin' Success. It is a GREAT place to get ideas - and it is from Stampin'Up!  :)
I got THIS card idea from the July 2012 Stampin' Success magazine!

So, if you would like to see just a small sample of what Stampin'Up! offers to the demonstrators, click here and you can see a few pages from the November/December 2012 issue!

What do you think? LOVE the ideas, right? You will also notice that the Ink-redible promotion is listed in the magazine. They do that sometimes too!

AND when you become a demonstrator, you can look at OLD magazines - those that came out BEFORE you became a demonstrator! I just looked online - I can go back to 2003! That is almost 10 years of ideas! The magazine used to be monthly, so that is 12 months worth of ideas for 10 years - that's 120 magazines to look through - I'm SURE there are more than a few ideas in those pages.

Would you like reap the benefits of the Ink-redible promotion through December 16th, maybe even go to Leadership with us (Stampin'Up! has now offered it to ALL demonstrators), and see some wonderful ideas? Join my team! We have such fun when we craft together!
