Dames Challenge/Contest Winner

I issued a Challenge/Contest to my downline - we are called Dawn's Dames. The Challenge/Contest was to use the sketch provided by Stampin'Up! in our monthly Stampin'Success magazine. Each of the Dames was eligible to win an incentive stamp from my "stash."

WINNER ALERT! Pam Sargent designed this card and used all SU! products, including the scallop punch, ribbon, pretties kit and more!

WAY TO GO PAM! I'm SURE your granddaughter will LOVE receiving this card (I know I would) - what a cheerful and happy card!

Job well done, Pam - thanks for sharing your gifts and talents with all of us!

I wonder what our next Dames Challenge/Contest will be... hmmm....

At the Detroit airport

For those in the stamping community, you know we help each other out. When I boarded my return flight from Salt Lake City to Detroit - a fellow demo helped me find space in an overhead compartment for my carry on. Demos were talking and chatting throughout the plane. Belinda Ellsworth, the guest speaker, was also on the airplane. A good time was had by all!

AND when I arrived at the Detroit airport, I saw another fellow demo had several bags. One of them was LAST year's Convention bag, which I also have and LOVE! Anyway, I walked with her to get one of those carts. You will NEVER guess who it was. I had only seen her work on one of the on-line groups that I belong to. AND after arriving home, I found that she and another demo also had won the Heart of Stampin'Up! Award for their work with the SUDDEN_response network (SUDDEN_response is a group of almost 300 demonstrators who stand ready to reach out and help other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who've had major damage and loss to their stamping spaces and supplies following disasters - fires, hurricanes, floods, tornado's, etc.). Yes! AND, well there's really no more ANDs... her name is Gretchen Barron. She was just a phenomenal person to meet. She was kind enough to pose with me for a picture and here it is.

Now, I just hope that some of her creative gifts and talents have rubbed off on me! :)

Convention 2009 Final Day

Well today was the last day. Geneva and I made some wonderful friends these past few days and received some WOW! swap cards. Geneva brought 50 card fronts to swap and I brought a total of 110 card fronts (those 2 designs - see post earlier this week).

We met these two lovely ladies from New Hampshire on Wednesday evening. Because there are SO many demos here, total strangers were sharing tables at the restaurants. Of course, if you are a stamper, you are NEVER a stranger! :)

AND with Dawn and Shannon's help (our new friends), we sat 3 rows from the stage yesterday and 6 rows from the stage today! Here's a picture of us (left to right is Dawn, Shannon, Geneva, and me - also Dawn!). Yup - this is the same stage that Shelli was on too!

Looking forward to coming home tomorrow. My flight is oversold according to the airline's website, so... let's hope I arrive home tomorrow! :) Geneva and I are on separate flights tomorrow.

Can't wait to share all the news with you this month!

Enjoy!

More Convention Pictures

You are going to have to lean your head to the right to view the new Stampin'Up! Build-a-Bear. Isn't she adorable! The little stamp, only available with the bear, says "life without stamps...unbearable!" And the ribbon is one of the InColors.
The other pictures are from Memento Mall and our bags with our stamping supplies.
I'll post more tomorrow.
Enjoy for now!

Convention Pictures

As promised, here is an update from Salt Lake City. You should see our "ride" - a Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup Truck - Geneva and I are "stylin'!"

Here are some pictures. I'll post our Memento Mall purchases later tonight!

Enjoy!

Convention Swap Cards

So, here are my 2009 Convention cards - what do you think? Still up, yes it is 11:00pm the night before Convention and I am still packing! Who'd-a-thunk?

The green card uses the Top Note Die - and is SO STINKIN' EASY! I used Sage Shadow Craft Ink with clear embossing powder on the front of the card. And used Handsome Hunter ink on the back of the card. A gift card fits very nicely in this card. (For those that attended the second class for the Christmas in July class - this card should look familiar to you. I modified it slightly for my Convention swaps.)

The robot card uses Bravo Burgundy, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Naturals White papers. I did a little watercoloring, some brads, pop-dots and viola! A kid's card (ok, maybe for adults too...).

We are picking Geneva up at 4:45 am for our EARLY morning flight. We should be in Salt Lake City around lunchtime.

I'll post more tomorrow. Have a GREAT day and enjoy!
